From Pope's comments in the pre-game presser, I sure didn't get the vibe that he would play. Kept making comments about not rushing him back just for this specific game and focused more broadly on his health beyond this one game and other similar type comments. Absolutely hope I'm wrong but I didn't get the sense from Pope he will play in this next game.
Pope has to quit worrying about rushing too much. We are trying to make the tournament at this point and we need to win some games. Healthy JQ will be watching the tournament from home at this rate.

Playing tomorrow would make some on this forum look pretty silly.
Well it is a positive step but he may only play very limited minutes and it will take him several games to get back in game shape and conditioning. I would ask this board to be patient with his comeback but we know this board has no patience lol.
Me for one. I thought for sure January would be his return. Heās right at 9 months which is the earliest typical ACL timeline.

Pryor for Louisville seams to be doing good from his ACL injury. I sure hope JQ does, he will change our team. I really don't give a rats a.ss what these trollers with nothing else in there life, have to say

I'm glad the fans get some much needed good news. So what if they have unreasonable expectations? It doesn't hurt anything on the court.
Iāve been saying for over a month heād be back mid December. The original timeline was for the NC Central or IU game. All the hate in his being a Sharpe 2.0 was so uncalled for and unjustified. This kid is a stud and he is eager to play. Heād have played last week if the staff let him. Anxious to see how he acclimates, his presence in the floor alone takes us to a different level.
Really good news. I know he'll be rusty and probably limited in terms of minutes, but I hope he can make a big difference. He's the one guy on the roster with elite talent, so there's potential to make everyone better. JQ's return is the main reason I have tried to keep some level of optimism going forward. Hope he is the spark we need.
I'll completely own that I thought he'd never play a game at UK, but would be perfectly fine being wrong if he does play tomorrow (or even next week).
I will add that although he might play, I'd be shocked if it's more than 3-5 minutes the entire game - more of a token to see how he's doing and to get him some time on the court in a real game. But then again, I was going to be shocked if he played at all this year, so there's that...I'm fine going 0-2 on predictions of this kind.
Whether he is great, good, or bad or somewhere in between. I appreciate him playing and wanting to make an impact. He and his family could have easily shut it down or made up a reason to delay his return.

Oh no no no! As a JMI shareholder this just wont do. We brought this feller in for UK federal commercials, this wasn't part of the plan.
I think a lot of folks have underestimated how much this kid will help us because he isn't a great scorer. There is more to basketball than shooting. Maybe not vs SJU, but by the time we are a few games into conference play and he has his sea legs, he will be a huge help
