Anybody know anything about his potential availability? Hope he's recuperating well and has a chance to return to the field for us.

If he sits out for medical reasons, he would be able to apply for a medical red shirt.

If he's healthy and able to play, maybe not

He may just want to get on with his life. The coaching staff passed him over twice now when he was by far our best option to be competitive. Really tough break for him and NU

If the coaching staff know he's the best option and assure him he's the man next season, he might want to return.

I guess it will depend on what we see from Hilinski the rest of the season.

Technically, TJ Green still has eligibility. In fact, he could have played last year and STILL had eligibility.

Marty just needs to move on. If the season is tanked, next season promises to be no better with even more starter turnover. Rutgers will be rather interesting. We will see if the staff can get it together. If they can't, I can't see a light at the end of the tunnel til '23. Also, are all of our recruited QBs not worth a dime? The portal has been decent for us, but not great.

At '23 the soonest. It is going to take some serious building back from we seen so far this season. This is potentially 2019 on steroids.

love the optimism. Seeing the Power of positive thinking at work in this thread and on this board with so many posters is really inspiring.

Corbi, if anyone wants to be optimistic, it is me, having invested so much in this program for it not to be. Whatever is going on, if it is not fixed (for the long term), soon, I do not see a positive outcome in the near future. This is worse, potentially much worse than 2019, and I hope/pray Fitz has the where-with-all to get control here. If we do not see a significant improvement this Saturday, my take is fundamental change in coaching is imperative. Fitz's football program is no longer the middle of the B1G, it has become near the top. Do you think such a sudden plummet is indicative of that?

Invested money? Time? Passion? Are you a donor? Alumnus? Former player?

This is not a snarky series of questions. I’m legit curious. (A hint over a GCG response would be preferred if you don’t want to say.)

I heard, and cannot recall from where it’s a labrum injury. If surgery is required I believe that’s a year and a half recovery. If so he is done. I certainly hope I am incorrect.

Invested money? yes to the university generally Time? Does watching every game, attending a couple a year, and wasting time with you bozos count? Passion? Is this a serious question? Are you a donor? Yes to the university generally Alumnus? Yes, and you get points for not saying "an alumni (sic)" Former player? No, I was nowhere near good enough

Thanks - same here to all. I get made fun of by my wife when I use the word “we” to talk about the football team. I’m not sure she’s wrong but I’m not going to stop.

All of that said, time to toss JON.

We lose a lot of experience on D again after this season. JON or no JON that will be a significant challenge for '22, but the silver lining is that hopefully a youth movement begins and by ' 23 and/or '24 we are back in the saddle.

That's great news. Thanks for the update Corbi. Hope Andrew gets healthy!

let me clarify, I have no recent updates. This Is based on what I heard immediately subsequent to his injury. I have heard nothing that changes that view.

You mean this is what you read on the Rock from @lou v ’s reporting?

@CoralSpringsCat , why am I paying for a Rock subscription when guys like corbi share that info for free?

The question, @corbi296, is why are you sharing Rock info on the free board? Shouldn’t that be a no no?

I love Fitz. He never blew me off. If you understood anything about college football, you’d understand why certain things can’t or won’t be discussed. Unfortunately you don’t. Let me know if you ever play, coach, officiate, or even call a peewee game on TV and then we’ll talk.
Ok as long as you let me know when you do more than spend a year as a walk-on picking splinters out of your *** before you decided to quit.

as far as your other question is concerned, I am not sharing info from the Rock. I would never do that. What I know of Marty’s injury I learned independently of what Lou shared on The Rock. Ironically, you are now the dumb *** that did exactly what you accused me of doing. Nice work!

LOL. “Splinters in my ***”? Message board tough guy.

How many years did you play? Did you try walking on when you were getting your MBA? You are what’s wrong with America. You post mean words on a message board that you would never say to my midriff.

Alternatively, name your source for Marty’s injury info. Prove me wrong.

What I know came from Lou himself, but it was a public tweet, not a post on the Rock:

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. Look how a mature adult answers a question about what was thought to be “proprietary” information on the rock. Maybe corbi could learn a lesson on maturity instead of hiding behind message board insults.

Why would anyone say something to someone else’s midriff?
Seems like that would be kind of a weird conversation.

Well you see, if one person is kind of short and the other is kind of tall it is difficult to speak Eye 2 Eye. I remember the first time I met Sean Morris and walked up to introduce myself and when I got up close I was speaking to his stomach. I had the same experience with a member of the board who used to post under the original go cats go, and now uses the name back door pass. He was sitting down when I got to the restaurant where we were supposed to meet and he stood up to say hello for the first time, and I went holy crap, he is about 6 foot eight. I had the same experience when I met Zach Strief for the first time

Ill go over to the Rock and see what was said but last I checked there was just additional speculation. Pretty much everything on the rock is on here other than weekend visitors. Oh, and rude comments about Jon Gruden by corbi about how much of a monster gruden is.
Viewing corbi years ago, i think its safe to say that he never played any sport but he might have done good in science, math, or other book smart ways.
He did seem like a pretty nice guy even though he has napoleonisms here.

Corbi has value. Prior to my rock subscription, Corbi was the only one we could rely on to spill any info from the Rock. So, although Corbi doesnt know football, his parroting and his info on chicago area recruits is welcome. Everything else he post is lies or garbage.

Look, I don’t want to turn this ugly - I try to avoid conflict with other Cat fans as there are so few of us.

Corbi is knowledgeable in banking and economic affairs. And I will always have a fundamental respect for a parent whose child serves in the military- especially the Marines given my family history.

I find both his football analyses and intuition to be … lacking although I’m sure others can say the same about mine. I know little about secondary coverage technique as an example of a gap in my FB knowledge but I can admit that. I actually respected 80% of what he had to say on the rant board. That said, maybe I should just put him on ignore too.

Go Cats!
