CBS and Feherty have finally divorced.

Guess I've been figuring.....without previously knowing his contract situation with CBS......that it would only be a matter of time before he and the network split. Lord knows Fox could use him.....and is the kind of place who'd pay his going rate.....but I'm not sure how NBC/TGC (who gave him the Feherty Show) would take to him leaving for FSN.

Regardless, I assume FSN is where he'll eventually surface.

I had dinner with him a few years back. Based on that conversation, I'm surprised this didn't happen much sooner. What a personal story he has. He's very, very entertaining.

One of the better ones of the bunch. I'd prefer to see McCord gone

CBS's coverage will certainly suffer without Feherty, but I'm sure he'll land on his feet.

JMO, but I myself don't feel McCord.....who admittedly has a pretty big mouth in his own right......considers himself quite the star/personality that Feherty does. I also don't feel as though he'd have any trouble coming to terms with CBS (as Feherty apparently did) on a new contract.

That said, Feherty remains one of my absolute favorite commentators in the business. However, with this (not so new anymore) TGC Show......and the "speaking" Tour he recently completed.....he's started to get, in my estimation, just a little big for his britches.

I'd venture this has a great Back Story. Feherty had a KMA card (kiss my ***) in his pocket. I wonder if CBS knew about a pending deal with NBC. Was a job with NBC used as leverage in negotiations with CBS or did Dave play the KMA card in its' full glory.

Oh, I don't know; I think it's a fairly easy to deduce now that Feherty and NBC/TGC were probably in joint cahoots (for him to join NBC's golf coverage) from the day they jointly agreed to his TGC show.

Beyond that, I myself doubt.... that is, until/unless I hear something to the contrary......that Feherty and CBS are having any kind of truly messy divorce. CBS may not have wanted him to leave.....and Feherty certainly owes CBS for giving his act a chance.....but this "new" relationship with NBC/TGC presumably just made it fait accompli that he was going there once his contract expired.

I still think Fox would have killed to get him; but in retrospect, that realistically may have never been in the cards.
