we're all glad wvu won, but ******** like you who childishly rub in victories you think everyone else who doesn't share your idolatry of holgs don't want so they can pile on holgs are a pain in the ***.....wvu finished 8-5 -- which is slightly above average -- by beating a 6-7 team.....that doesn't take holgs' off the hot seat for next year.....he still is 15-21 in b12 play and 0-4 against kansas state, etc., etc. ..... nice win, we are all happy, but please, dude, don't start using it as a cudgel for your pseudo-intellectual arrogance.....overall, wvu still underachieved this season in football.....but surely 8-5 is better than 7-6.....9-4 would be an undeniable a success considering the 0-4 losing streak.....8-5.....very debatable considering how wvu and holgs gagged the kansas state game......fyi, i thought howard came of age a bit today.....i have high hopes for him next season.....that said, you're still a f***ing jagoff......

Thank you. That pompous *** from California is dumber than Mickey Furfari, and really sucks at rapping. He has probably eaten more crow on this board than any other poster through the years, and it wasn't that long ago that he was dumping on Huggins. WVU doesn't need his kind.

Great wins for Holgs, Howard and the football team and Huggins and the team. Shame the board allows WVU haters here to sulk about the wins after WVU fans have had to read their whining @$$ b.s. for months on end. Eat crow trollers!

Let's Gooooooo Mountaineers!!!!!!!

At least you finally learned the name of our starting QB. If you want to pretend to be a WVU fan, at least learn the name of our starting QB, you lazy bastard. We all got a good laugh out of your repeatedly referring to him as Skylar, troll...

That's not the first time I've read that on this board. It's unreal we have to put up with this nonsense from FORMER Mountaineers still pretending to be one of us. They're the same ones on here creaming their jeans every time RR gets an occasional big win... then trying to shame us for supporting Dana and the team.

This is a trick question, because we didn't play against a D1 secondary.

That literally looked like our backfield in 2012.

I wondered out loud this morning. How many points would Houston (forget a healthy Baylor or Clemson) have scored on ASU. I would be disappointed if UH didn't hang 80 on that crew.

Howard gives it all he has and has spirit, but if he's our answer next season with our defense taking a likely step down then we are boned.

some of you guys must lead miserable lives. Now it's excuses, we didn't face a D1 secondary. Go root for Alabama then. They have NFL caliber everything.

The old troll trick of marginalizing one's opponent doesn't seem to be working today. WVU beat a quality opponent in their backyard. ASU also beat a Rodriguez coached team (and sidekick Jeff Casteel) by a score of 52-37. The "bring back RR crowd" should be forever silenced.

Big difference playing in a power conference.

You're trying to tell me that ASU beat a RR-coached team by 2 tds. Next thing, you'll be trying to say Arizona had six losses this year.

On the one hand he had a great game .

On the other hand .... still way too many passes off-target. He easily should have passed for more than 700 yards against that defense ... easily.

I would be willing to bet that Howard's 60.5 quarterback rating was one of the lowest of any winning bowl qb, but he still found a way to win, which is all that matters. He had a great game, for him, and played with a tremendous amount of toughness. I would love for every player to have Howard's drive, work ethic, and toughness...

Yea that QB from California had 10 more yards against ASU than Skyler, so 700 yards should have been easy. Its done every weekend right?

Howard had a good game. He hit open receivers for big plays (and the receivers caught them). He deserved the MVP award. ASU's defense was atrocious but you still have to make the plays. He also kept his poise much better than he has before.

ASU fans have to be shaking their heads (WVU fans would be forming a lynch mob) wondering WTF the coaching staff was doing (not to mention the kicked XP). I can't fault starting the game daring us to throw. When ,however, it became obvious their DBs could not even stay close to our receivers why it didn't back off into a cover three or some formation with deep safety help is baffling. Giving us repeated shots at the fly and deep posts was exactly the wrong thing to do. If you are going to "give" us something make it the short and intermediate passes and then make the tackle. We haven't been good at either completing those or turning them into big plays all year. Maybe we would have some success at that in this game but sticking with plan of letting us isolate on overmatched corners and WSs was clearly not working.

Skylar had a good game...no doubt. But he can't do that week in week out because he is average at best. He is the hardest worker on the team...but just not a lot of God given talent.

I heard it said that if WV had went to the 100% air-raid attack and let Skyler throw 90 to 100 times he would have had over 1000 yards passing against ASU. Wow! Can you believe that?

No, he's not. I give the kid credit for competing and I do like him but he doesn't quite have the skills at this level. His fundamentals are lacking at this level and it shows.

Someone better tell Holgs of this finding with regard to Skyler. Make it quick.

Coming from someone content with beating a 6-6 team. I'll admit WVU cannot do much better, but to be content just shows the mentality of those who lack ambition.

Is a RAW QBR of 50.6 good?
Well, you are talking to a hypocritical Marshall troll who didn't know the name of our starting QB, who said Holgorsen was just as good as Briles, and who completely denigrates everything about WVU from before Dana got here. You are wasting your time by asking him a legitimate question...

I am lacking in mentality and admit that I am content with WV sports in general. I lack ambition and it shows. When I work........ I work hard. When I play..............I play soft. When I thinks..............I falls to sleep. Now, I'm hoping I can get my wife to bring me another bottle of that grape soda. Warez

Nope. I never said it's done every weekend and it's silly for you to suggest so.

But I'm not going to pretend that Sky didn't have 23 (TWENTY-THREE!) incomplete passes and many of those were to open receivers.

In THAT game on THAT night against THAT team Sky could have passed for 700 yards if he were only more accurate. On the other hand he is also very fortunate not to have had another 2-3 interceptions.

Things went his way well enough and we all enjoyed the win. But you're not going to convince me that Sky could not have had around 700 yards passing. It was there in plain sight.

Or if the receivers would have caught what they could have or if the line would have given him just 0.5 seconds more then yes he could have thrown for 700 yards. He would not have 23 incompletions if he would have taken 10 more sacks instead of getting rid of the ball. Silly isn't it.

A 5:2 TD to int ratio isn't great. That pass defense was not great. He did some good things and some bad things. Decent overall, imo

Really, you should do just a modicum of research before you post. Ben Rothlisberger has thrown 22 TD passes so far and has 16 interceptions, so that's an 11:8 ratio. Skyler was 20:8, which, and correct me if I'm wrong, is better. I think Ben is considered a good NFL QB, isn't he?
