Well, I could recall Cal losing to Evansville at home to start with. How many years is it acceptable for you for UK not to make the final four? uK’s beat a lot of ranked teams this year. So you wanna keep Cal and not give Pope a chance to build a program? So tell me who do you want to coach the team? Please respond.

well Pope has never done anything "coaching wise" in the tournament losing to teams like Arkansas Ohio st Clemson but beating top 15 teams just don't think Pope has what it takes to Win the championship
Thank God #3 IowaSt lost at home to 95th KSt with losing record and a Quad3 loss. But yes this sucks!
I admit that it is below those losses, but it will live on in a similar way to the Duke loss in 92. Whether it will be good or bad remains to be seen, but it will be remembered.

Seeding for tourney keeps dropping. Coach Pope better start stringing some wins together. Home losses always really tick me off.
I dont understand how you can make that statement. Do you realize that their 7 quad 1 wins are not because of their athleticism but because of their coaching and game plan? That’s why their defense is so bad because they’re not athletic as most of the competition. Give pope at least four years to see what he can do. But if you’re going to complain and say he’s not the person please tell me who should be coaching the team?

cal
Richmond and Knox were highly rated. And Thiero is the best player on either team. He’s just a Freak of nature
Right , they were 4 stars. Thiero wasn't rated until he signed with UK. He made it to a 3 star status on one recruiting service. Others , he remained unranked or, a 2 star.
Thiero was not Rated until he was offered. He has developed by a great deal. That's a tribute to him and Cal. Richmond and Know were relatively high 4 stars.
No game should mean more to another team. You play to win the game.
Their effort wayyyyyyy better than ours, you could see it from tip and when they made this first shots I knew we were in for a fight but we truly never responded after the first tv TO. We backed off and they stepped up and pressed forward, something they haven’t done all year but you would think at this point guys would understand that “everyone gives their best effort” against Ky. We have examples from Clemson and osu and vandy…….you have to match that intensity and defense is where it shows the most……..our biggest weakness.
I think the selection committee will reward SEC teams. This brutal schedule will pay dividends in the tourney, hopefully. There will be a couple SEC teams with less than 20 wins that makes some big noise come March in the NCAA’s.
If our team can't be (individually) mentally ready to play a game like this and, Pope can't get them, as a team, mentally prepared then we are screwed. Silliest excuse I have ever heard.
Oakland, st Pete, Evansville, and that PA team in the NIT were worse. Also mtsu and uab n the 1980s ncaa tournament.
Arkansas has underachieved this season but isn't as bad as their record. It's still a loss you can't have at home to an unranked team though.

They’re only unranked because they don’t have a coach. Lots of talent but the coach doesn’t know how to utilize it. We’ve seen that before. I believe they’re near the top when it comes to NIL money spent for their roster.

It’s embarrassing. No other way around it. Quite the **** sandwich to have to eat given the personal stuff with an ex coach and players.

Truth is, this sport is absolutely pointless outside of March. You get to the Final Four, no one will remember any regular season losses.

Loss is only embarrassing because of us fans. We spent all year beating our chests and bragging. Then went all in with the booing. Sometimes when you get arrogant, you get humbled really quick. Talk about egg on your face. I just hope we get payback when it actually counts in the SEC tournament.
