As the Russians would say "It's all lie. false news".

"I did not have communications with the Russians" "It's all lie" "It's fake news" "It's all Obama's fault" "It's the Generals' fault" "I have the best Generals" "I know more than the Generals" "Obama planned this not me" "My raid was a complete success" "The media is the enemy"

The swamp is overflowing with the same lies and blame from Russia to the White House. Yep. "Moron conspiracies"[thumbsup]

Damn Best Virginia, you sure have a hard on for Trump!

You sure you don't really just want to jump his bones? Go ahead admit it Dude, you think he's cute don't you? You like his little cowlick combover don't 'ya?

Damn, you morons are dumb. It is normal business and a good thing to talk to foreign leaders and diplomats while in an official position in order to work together on a world issue. It is against the law to assist a foreign government to spy on American citizens or interfere with the current Administration in an unofficial capacity with a foreign government or assist a foreign government in our election process. That is what we need answers to. I hope the investigation comes up with nothing but with so many under the Trump umbrella lying, something is being covered up. We need answers.

It is amazing you nuts can't understand this basic difference.

I just think the Left's hyperventilating over Russians is all they really have right now to try and discredit Trump. What they really are trying to do is stop him from dismantling Leviathan.

They could care less about the damn Russians....why were they so honky dory with Hillary selling them all that Uranium if they're so worried about helping Russia or what they may do to us?

Why were they so compliant as Obama sat and watched them annex Crimea (Korea according to Maxine Walters) Ukraine, and virtually run us out of Syria?

They're not even believable in their sudden outrage over Russia's flexing of its geopolitical muscle. 40 years ago, they worshiped Lenin and the Soviet Socialist experiment.

Still do. Who are they kidding?

None of that conflicts with meeting the ambassador with staff in attendance, and only one such meeting with many countries that he had had

Moron

Context

At his Jan. 10 Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing, Sessions was asked by Sen. Al Franken, a Minnesota Democrat, what he would do if he learned of any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of the 2016 campaign.

Sessions was not part of the campaign. His "communication" was as senator. There is no conflict.

OK, so he says "I had no contact with the Russians" ... and that doesn't conflict with communicating with the Russians?
I'm finding out that a lot of words don't mean what I've thought they meant all these years ... this time "conflict".

" I had no contact with the Russians" is not the same as "I had contact with the Russians in an official capacity as a senator"

Besides all of that ... it has been said multiple times that he answered the question that was asked and he answered it honestly. He did neither of those things. The question was "what would you do if you found out .... " and he answered that he wasn't aware of any of that happening and that he had no contact with Russians.

I don't even understand how this is a gray area. He said what he said in response to a question asked ... it's on video, there's no denying what he said.

The only gray area is whether it's a big deal or how big of a deal it is.

It's not a big deal...the Media is hyping it to try and discredit Trump and anyone else associated with him.

Totally unnecessary step on their part. Obama administration set the bar low with Lynch not recusing herself after meeting Bill
lmfao, Obamas gone and Sessions didn't have a choice, the faulty analogies are hilarious. You guys have all three branches of Government and can't get out of the starting gate because the clown in charge doesn't have a clue and is scared to death the truth is gonna come out.

Perjury may not be "a big deal" but it is an impeachable offense.

True countryroads89, but what is the crime? What was Sessions trying to hide when he "perjured" himself? Is he/was he under suspicion of committing a crime when he was asked if he'd ever had contact with any Russians?

Is he under indictment now for any criminal wrongdoing? Or is the entire Trump organization criminal because they helped the Russians help them steal the election?

We all know Hillary was supposed to win right?

The crime is perjury. It doesn't matter why or what anyone is trying to hide. Lying to Congress (under oath) is perjury.

Yes you're correct countryroads89. So why isn't Sessions being indicted? What was the crime he lied about under oath?

" I had no contact with the Russians" is not the same as "I had contact with the Russians in an official capacity as a senator"

The entire section quotation is "I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign, and I did not have communications with the Russians"

As a surrogate, I never had communications. Had the ", and" not been there, you might have a point.

Yes, some things that got a hell of a lot of coverage, and they remain open. Stonewall, 5th, and lies are not appropriate methods recognized as resolution.

Also, the leaks surrounding the current issue needs further investigation. I don't care who is involved or how many. Career employs or political position should not get a bye. Nothing can be discussed in confidence in DC without the Times or Post having it as headlines in the next issue. Remember Osama in cave. He was being traced via use of his portable phone. This was discovered/discussed before 8 member bi-partisan congressional panel. The next day, media - Post and Times- were revealing tracking method and even put the model number of the phone in headlines.

Uh no ... But if he had said what you said "As a surrogate I never had communications" it wouldn't be a lie ... you're reading that into what he said, but that's not what he said. I have no doubt that's what he meant, and as I stated before I don't see how it's worth all of this hubbub. But at the same time, he's being questioned to be the AG, he should know how to correctly answer questions under oath so as to remove any ambiguity in interpretation.

Even at that ... he didn't come close to answering the question that was asked ... which had nothing to do with whether or not he spoke with the Russians, so it's odd that he would throw that out there anyway. "What would you do if you learned that the accusations were true and surrogates spoke with Russia?" .... "I didn't communicate with Russia"
