At first I was a little surprised but Cutcliffe is a great offensive coach, Duke has had winning records the last 3 years and opp for early Playing time in the ACC.

Marwede is a terrific player and Duke is lucky to have him. But he is not the top recruit in the state. He is not even the top recruit at his position. Rivals has him ranked #18 in the country while Kmet is ranked 5th.

I am going to sneak this question in here.. When an SEC program asks a soph to come down for their spring game and a one day camp in June, do they do that for a ton of kids or is there legit interest?

Sorry I really don't follow the rankings I just know he's up there near the top. I agree Duke's a great school and I know their football team has improved. It's still unusual to see a top Chicago area, CCL recruit go to Duke. It's usually to a traditional power you see these type kids go .

And Notthwestern is a private school so I assume a student that attends there might run out ok.

And how about NIU? Their enrollment has dropped a ton the last 10 years.. Seems other than U of I and Illinois St, all schools are down about 20%

SIUe is doing well enrollment wise also. I believe that schools that will make it through this will be NIU (Location), UofI, ISU, and SIUe, and one of the other three.

A little in sight on Duke ..
Winning record last 4 years and bowl games last 4 played in ACC championship v
FSU 2013. Coach Cutcliffe has turned it around. School put 250 million in to facilities over the last few years and the facilities take a back seat at no one.

They usually get a kid a every other year out of chicago/illinois. They don't need to go very far for talent because of atlanta flordia and Carolinas are full. 5 years ago the we're developing 2 and 3 star kids now getting 3 and 4 star. Have a niche with recruiting smaller private schools and getting their top talent. They get 2 or 3 kids drafted every year and 2 to 5 free agents, so they have a path to the NFL.
Getting kids who get it done in classroom as well as on the field. Congrats to the young man who committed there a great place to develop as a player and person.

Also the weather is great in durham.
