past or present era was...or is...your most hated?

For me it was and always be Penn State. No matter how good I thought my Mountaineers were they always let the air out of the balloon. Don't play them now but i root against them every week.

I guess the most popular answer will be Pitt but honesty Virginia Tech is mine. The hell with Beamer Ball!!! Texas is high on the list for my kids though.

Penn State hate has cooled. I remember a co-worker who loved WVU. She told me on a Friday that she was driving to State College from Charleston Saturday for the game because she had a feeling we were going to pull an upset. Well, Penn State drubbed us as usual. When I saw here on the following Monday, I asked what she thought of the game. She shook her head and said, "I left for Charleston late in the first quarter."

Virginia Tech, Pitt, Syracuse...... in that order. Staring to hate Texas and tcu a little.

I’ll add Maryland in there as well, especially during the first half of Rich rods tenure when they owned us. But we’ve dominated them since do my hatred cooled some.

Still cant see anything matching penn state. They owned us. In all the meetings they won 48...wvu won 9. There were two ties. Thats a whole lot of frustration!

Might sound strange, due to the limited times they played one another, but plain ole Virginia was the team I hated the most, and still can't stand them. Pompous *** bitches is what they are. I always thought it would be cool to slap one of the punks wearing a tie to a football game. They might have thought they were too good for WV rednecks, but they weren't too good to take an a$$ whipping.

It was always pitt and still is. But given what psu let happen to kids - raped by an assistant coach and covered it up - psu is a very close second. I still believe that the ncaa should have closed happy valley down for at least one year. IMHO it was one of the most (if not indeed the most) disgraceful thing to have ever happened in sports.

I've never developed any personal feelings towards other teams, but VT seemed like it was the most disliked team while I was a student - more than Pitt.

Don't forget their two halftime presentations by their "pep" band or whatever it was called depicting WVU fans as outhouse using hillbillies. The last time was when we played them in the Continental Tire Bowl in Charlotte. As I recall, UVA did away with that band after that.

1. Pitt
2. Va. Tech
3. Probably Miami, but hated Syracuse for years after that whole Marvin Graves incident. I thoroughly enjoyed the a$$ whuppin' Robert Walker and the boys laid on them in their house the following year.
