As long as he is able to FaceTime recruits here and there and reassure them that he’s gonna be here and his plans to use them etc….then there isn’t a huge rush as long as he’s here by spring

I’d like Marky Mark to swallow his pride and get the best man for the job. That is Bobby Petrino. Don’t let A&M get him. $3.5 million should do. I believe that is 10 times his current salary of info posted on here before is true.
I really hope this is in jest

Officially, it may be a tricky contract to finalize which may draw it out a little bit. I'm just guessing here but basing it on the fact he may remain with the Rams for a part of or the remainder of their season while also functioning as our coach in some capacity during that same time period. Due to the overlap perhaps both parties must negotiate liability for wages, benefits, etcetra & things of that nature.

Thinking logically, the above-mentioned nuances may make things take longer than normal. It's just not everyday an NFL OC goes back to the college ranks mid season. So while he may our coach behind the scenes, I'm guessing we might not see an official announcement for a little bit longer.

I wouldn't be surprised if he finished out with the Rams like McVay said. But he could still be making calls etc for the cats at the same time. I'm sure at the very least he's considering his QB options

If Coen is in LA for another month he probably won’t have time for recruiting. NFL coordinator is a demanding job. That said, just the knowledge that he is coming makes recruiting for the current staff a lot easier

I agree. He is a professional and will take the remainder of his time in LA seriously and be focused on that. Never want to burn bridges in College football or the NFL.

I think Coen and McVay were the ones who leaked it to Mort, and the "UK fans" were reassurances to any current players and portal guys that he's coming back. I doubt Mort's keeping up with our angst on filling the position.

McVay is 99 percent out the door after the season to do TV so I doubt he's keeping Coen on too tight of a leash. He'll probably end up finishing out the season though. So four weeks, tops.

Mid January is perfect. I do not want him here until he finishes the season because I think that would be a sorry way to leave an employer. I am everything but a Rams fan but I sure like to see people fulfill their commitments to their employer.

The Cats can hang on until he gets here knowing he is coming. Any potential transfer or recruit can relax if Coen to Kentucky is the reason they are coming to Kentucky.

Welcome Home Coach Coen

It really isn't nearly that difficult. Have the contract term start the last day of the rams season with contingency language in the unlikely event they make the playoffs. That solves everything and is easy. Can't believe this is any real roadblock.
