So Which Teams Would UK rather not face?

Congrats on what looks to be an undefeated season....that's a really tough thing to do at any level of basketball. Putting message board bravado aside, which team(s) would UK fans prefer not to face in tournament? Would love to see your honest thoughts along with your rationale. Ahead of schedule, I'm sure there will be many fans who will respond with the classic "I fear no one line," but we all know there has to be that one team that might make you a little nervous. Who is it?

My list..

1. Wisconsin (the only team who I think could beat us if we have a bad day)
2. Arizona
3. Duke

4. Notre Dame...sort of.

I think we by far the best team in the country but not often does the best team win so I'd prefer a 2010 Duke type tourney schedule.

If we play well, there isn't a team in the country that can beat us. Having said that, I'd rather not see Arizona or Wisconsin. We're better than either, but they both have the size to hang with us. Teams like Duke, and Notre Dame could give us trouble but only if they hit 15 or so threes.

I'm not gonna lie. I want an easy path. Nobody remembers who indiana or ucla beat to go undefeated except maybe the final four or championship. Nobody is going to say we beat the toughest nine seed or four seed or two seed. I would rather not see wisconsin Duke , Virginia till Indy

Wisconsin ... Big and can shoot
Nova ... We cannot stop guard penetration vey well

But if we play focused, it won't matter.

Being honest here I don't think the Wisconsin, Duke, Kansas of the world will stand a chance because we shine when the lights come on.
I am concerned about 3 teams because we may not expect much from them if matched up before the E8 or F4:

Iowa State- they just score in bunches and quick. If we are having a game where we don't show up this is the type of team that scares me because Niang/Morris are legit go to guys surrounded with perfect role players around them. Tough team.

North Carolina- I know I know, but they are playing a lot better than I ever thought they would. I'm not necessarily "scared" but I could see this matchup coming down to the wire and them having the ability to finish. I hate saying that, as I can't stand them but they concern me!

Michigan State- I hate Izzo in March.

Aside from the obvious top teams, Iowa State worries me. I don't know, the teams that have almost beat us have been average teams. A surprise is what worries me.

I'm not afraid of any team, but I think Duke, Wisconsin and Arizona are likely to be our toughest matchups.

Of the dark horses, I think Baylor is a team that can match us physically. If they were to get hot from the outside, they could be a really tough game as well.

Duke and Wisconsin are the teams I wanted to avoid in our bracket, and it looks like we will.

And I'd rather not see Louisville or UNC as a 4 or 5 in our region. Nothing good can come out of that, and I can't handle the stress of meeting another rival in a do-or-die game.

No revenge games: Please, not 1. UNC 2. Louisville 3. Wisconsin
Those 3 are good enough to win if we don't really play with intensity. KU, not so much. Duke, I kind of want us to beat them and watch Willie give Okafor fits.

Loserville couldn't beat us if we played them 1 on 5, UNC seems to be playing better lately but I don't think they're for real. Wisconsin is a threat but as long as they're not in our bracket they'd only be one of the good teams we'd inevitably have to face in the Final Four.

I don't want to see UNC because they are playing better plus I'm tired of playing them so often. I don't want to play Louisville because we have to beat them every single year now and it's stupid.

Like everyone I don't want to see Duke or Wiscy or Arizona until the final four--but also like a few others that have posted, I feel like our greatest threat will be a 4-8 seed that is seeded poorly and we aren't up for the game.

They will definitely put WV in our bracket because Huggins seems to be Cal's kryptonite...I would not be surprised to see Iowa State and Notre Dame because people seem to think those teams can beat us--and maybe they can. Anyone can be beat in a one game scenario. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kansas in our bracket because of the early season beat down we laid on them.

UNC. I think we'd beat them by more than 14 this time, but I just don't want to watch a bunch of lying cheaters play.

They should already be on probation.

Just due to size in front court and potentially good guard play.

So we pretty much rather not see any team ranked lower than 15?

I think we can out physical almost everybody. Villanova and Notre Dame are two schools I'd rather not test because of their outside shooting.

Teams with quick, good-shooting guards will be the worst matchups for us. It's why I wanted to avoid Duke at all costs. Although, Notre Dame had an interesting strategy to beat them: single-team Okafor and let him go off, while blanketing Tyus Jones and Quinn Cook outside. Both were non-factors.

Nova has a small lineup and loves to drive and dish to shooters. I'd be nervous playing them, despite their weak schedule. Fortunately, things are shaping up nicely for the teams I wanted to avoid in our bracket. We'll probably get screwed with the strongest 4-5 seeds, but we're going to get what we wanted as our 2, which is avoiding Wisconsin.

I don't want to play the DREAM TEAM. I think Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson will be difficult to contain.

Anybody else wont matter.

The thing that worries me the most is running into a team red hot from the three point line on a night that UK is a little off in their shooting. If Notre Dame had just a little more size to go with their outside shooting and maturity I would not want to have to play them early in the tournament.

Let hope UK doesn't have any of those games where they come out not ready to play like they have at times this year. Playing catch up from a big deficit is going to be difficult in the NCAA tournament.

Zona, Wisc, dUKe.

Honestly though, if UK plays defense like they can and are hitting their shots, my stress level would be a lot less.

Duke - I think we would win a series, but when their shooters are on, it's hard to beat them. I think we wouldn't double Okafor and stay out on their shooters, meaning Okafor would get about 30, but that's ok if you are successful guarding the perimeter. Still, just as far as potential for problems go, they would be the team I want to play the least.

Wisconsin I guess, but I think we are much better than we were last year, and they are an average outside shooting team, with a handful of good players, but nothing I think we can't handle. Still they have the offense to beat us if they are on and we have an off night.

Arizona - More because of Miller than anything else. I think he's a good coach and they have a lot of experience and a really good frontcourt. Out of 10 games I don't think they win more than 1 or 2, but the potential is there.

Nobody else really scares me much, if at all.

I'm lol-ing at you people listing ND. Their defense is 111th. We would have to have a terrible night shooting to lose to them.

Notre Dame impresses me....a team that can beat Duke and UNC on back to back nights, in what are essentially road games, has to be given respect. Their offensive explosiveness was on display against UNC. They have tough veterans who play well together and can shoot the three. Ignore them at your peril.

I'm hoping Ky gets in a bracket with 15 other teams with overall seeds ranking from 49-64. Likewise, I'm hoping for a final four of Ky, Harvard, Belmont and Georgia State....or a reasonable facsimile thereof.

It's not about who you play but whether or not you win the trophy.

I completely agree! A lot of people are very gung-ho about wanting to play all the top ranked teams on the way to the trophy. Why? I say take the easiest path to the trophy! We've already beaten a LOT of good teams. All I want now is that 'ship, so why not take an easy route to get it?

I'm still hoping that the committee breaks from tradition and names Missouri as our 2 seed. I've been campaigning for Missouri to be MW 2 for a couple of months now. Geographically it makes sense, right?

Honestly I think the topped ranked teams will try to play us straight up and that is when we're at our best. I worry more about some no name team that goes on a streak. Another Ol Miss for example.
