Does anyone out there know this kid and is there any chance we could get him back in the fold? With reports of Schiano being committed to the spread, this kid can really move the chains and is committed to an underperforming Houston team. It looks like he held his own against some serious competition this season.

I think it is possible you guys are overestimating how many kids Schiano can talk into making a life changing decision within the 15 days until signing day.

He needs to spend time, and make it a first priority, to re-recruit the roster in the room and work on the current coaching staff. Get the house in order.

Then spend some time on the committed kids.

Then work the uncommitted ones (Berger, etc.), flips (Atcavage, etc), and also JUCOs and any transfers.

Surely he has some out-of-the-blue names he will be able to work on. His recruiting footprint must have expanded some from his time at OSU.

He has to work on new coaches as well.

Big job

In general, I agree with you. This is why I am referencing a kid who is a former commit, who already knows the benefit of playing here. And to anyone who says "pass on Massoud". May I ask why? You see other QBs around here who will score more?

He doesn’t have to convince a kid to come to Rutgers. He just need to seed enough doubt in their minds about early-committing to the school they’re intending to commit to. He can say, “You’ve got time to make your final decision and sign during the traditional NLI time period. Give us a chance to make a bid for your college career.”

Player: "But Coach Schiano, the coaches at X College told me they won't hold my spot if I don't sign early."

Schiano: "Look, nobody understands this recruiting game better than me. Maybe they're bluffing, and maybe they're not. If they are bluffing, well then you have nothing to worry about. But if they're not, and they really would pull your offer - then you might want to ask yourself exactly how highly do they think of you. I mean, I'M willing to wait for you, why aren't they?"
