Do you actually think Tom (and Terry) don't have a good relationship with past wrestlers? Because a couple of them jaw at each other at a wrestling tournament or they coach at a different college or compete for a different club?? That's nuts if that's what you actually think. Tom and Terry have always put the best interest of their wrestlers first and treat them like family and that includes Brent Metcalf getting hired at isu. Despite what a lot of people think, Tom played a role in getting Brent the job, knowing donors were willing to pay big bucks for the position. There are a few who they don't have a good relationship with, 2 that come to mind are DSJ and Carew. In all honesty, I could care less how those 2 feel about the Iowa wrestling program and our coaches.

What’s the beef there? Isn’t St. John a former national champ for Iowa? Isn’t Carew running the top kids club in Iowa? You don’t care how they feel? Brands has only coached 8 individual champs in 20 years and there is bad blood with over half of them and not a single champ is on staff. Why?
The Brands bros and their matside antics/coaching decisions, outside of die hard hawkeye fans, look like childish, bullheaded fools to most. Imagine DT or Cael or JB (if he ever gets into coaching) doing some of the **** T&T do.
