“With a defense that's allowing 14.5 points per game and a rushing attack piling up 194.0 yards per contest, the Hawkeyes are winning the same way they always win. Their only loss came against Ohio State, and they hung 41 points on Washington in a Week 6 road victory to flash some offensive muscle going into their bye week. They play just one ranked team the rest of the way, and it's No. 25 Northwestern, so there's a path for this team to reach the Big Ten championship game”

Game by game … I know … but if the Hawks play like they did against Washington this could definitely happen… but Northwestern, Nebraska and Wisconsin all look pretty damn tough

11-1 or BUST

Go Hawks!

Stats against Northern Illinois and UNI shouldn’t be included in any meaningful analysis.

11-1 is very possible but it’s laughable to make an arguement for it based on some games.

I don't think it's laughable. Who are they playing that's so much better than who they've beaten already? Arguably Washington and Michigan on the road are probably better wins than anything coming up. Iowa will be touchdown favorites for Minnesota, Purdue, and Illinois. They will be lighter favorites vs Nebraska and Wisconsin at home. At Northwestern is probably the only toss-up game and I like them to win that one too.

Agree, except that everybody else plays cupcakes too. Look at the nonconference teams the SEC, BIG, and BIG 12 have played. It's a list of nobodies.

We always have such a thin marging that losing to Minnesota, NW, and Nebraska are just as easily possible as winning. Those games are a toss up. Wisconsin is probably more along the lines of 55%/45%. If our offense shows up like they did against Washington, the same against @minnesota and the defense does the same against the Gophers running game, then I'd have more confidence in the remaining games. I'd really like to see us building on such a game continuously for the rest of the season offensively for once. Our pass defense does scare me though, that's the one area I don't have the most confidence. Pair it with the lack of a pass rush and we can be carved up.

Very true, a strong showing against Minnesota would give some serious momentum

I dunno man - this could break toward one of those special Kirk seasons or I've been an Iowa fan long enough to still expect that stinker loss. The D still makes me a little nervous, especially seeing how the backup Washington QB shredded in the passing game. However, I feel like we have a QB with some moxie, which tends to align with the special seasons.
