Some Improvement but it means Little

I will give the Cats some credit for their effort tonight. But we've seen this before against weaker opponents. Until these guys beat a good team, it really means very little. Their bipolar was on full display tonight. They saw some shots fall and then everyone was making shots. But the problem comes when the scoring isn't coming very easily. That's when they go the opposite direction, their confidence drops off completely, and they can't buy a bucket.

We will see if anything has changed on Saturday. With Indiana coming to town and desperate for a win at Rupp, they'll be physical, they'll be ready to play from the tip with huge amounts of energy, and the Cats will need to be ready from the tip or they'll find themselves down 20 again. A slow start Saturday is unacceptable. Even if we miss some early shots, gotta keep fighting, defending with max effort, and creating turnovers for easy offense.

I'm still mostly concerned about our lack of real talent and having a bunch of role players, beta players, and no leaders. We'll see. Until they beat a good team, I'm not impressed.

I saw a few good signs tonight, but that can be very misleading when it's against a horrible team. It's better than a loss, but that's about all you can say until Saturday.

What the heck happened to Kam? Started to look like he was going to be that stretch 4 we needed and has just massively regressed on both ends.

Hit you? No way! This just shows how deep the blue blood runs. Even after one of the most disastrous losses in modern history, you still HAD to watch the Cats play NC Central —- tells me you’re a true fan, albeit a justifiably angry one. I gotta be honest —- I thought we kind of stunk last night. That was probably the worst we have played against the bad teams. The effort was much improved and I’m glad the game happened. These games right now are more about re-establishing a culture than literal performance. Indiana is a MUST-WIN.

I saw improvement with ball movement. It also helped to make threes. Johnson hit threes that he hasn’t made all season. Will he do that against Indiana? St John’s?

I watch a lot of off the ball stuff, and, one thing that bothered me, and against NC Central, it‘s not noticeable to most, but, numerous times Chandler was wide open from three, and Johnson ignored him time and time again. By my count, 8 times. Like I said, it didn’t affect this game, because the opponent was so awful, but, it’s going to be a problem against teams with a pulse, because Johnson hasn’t made anything against good opponents.

He doesn’t just do that to Chandler, Johnson ignores ALL of his teammates when he has the ball in his hands.

JJ shows some promise as a scorer, but as a passer he’s been a nightmare. Sometimes it looks like he doesn’t even understand the concept of passing. From the moment he touches the ball he only thinks about getting HIS shot off.

Both are me. When we switched over to on3, I thought I had lost my original account completely. But I just needed to log in with a different email. This one has my original start date and a record of my number of posts, which was substantial. I'm trying to merge these accounts now, so I can keep my history and change back to my original screen name, which is IL Wildcat. This revcort screen name is another one I've used for years.

Like I said in one of your previous posts that the picture in your avatar looked like you, we have talked before, and you don't live far across the state line from me. Hope you get your account worked out, the stupid rivals384606 at the end of my original username makes no sense to me. ;) (y)
