I hate losing to Louisville but I’m already over it. They played great and we didn’t. As early as it is in the season we have a lot to figure out rotation wise and plenty of time to fix the issues this team has. Not having Noah, hurt offensively and not having Quaintance on the floor defensively hurt. We get them both on the floor and healthy I think we will be a totally different team.

Amazing that some think Noah is the answer....

Agree it has issues. We are banged up and missing a lottery pick. The sky is not falling and the overacting from some last night is just ridiculous.
Some definitely go too far. The peaks and valleys with fans are always there. Some continually underreact too.

That lottery pick isn't guaranteed to be fully healthy or even play. All teams and players are banged up most of the year. Aberdeen played amazingly well, and he's been banged up. Lowe and Oweh played like trash, and they've been banged up. One can't be ignored and the other used as an excuse or a reason. Players will have good games and bad games. If you pay attention, you can identify the weaknesses and issues. And they have very little to do with being banged up.

And respectfully, that's where I think we're overreacting. Call it how you see it, by all means, but last year's team made it to the Sweet Sixteen even with all the odds stacked against them in the best year of college basketball in a decade or more.

And this is why I think it's an overreaction. Last year's team, again, made it to the second weekend despite having one point guard who was half dead, a PF with a mucked spine in Carr, and three other options at PG/wing outside of CC completely out of commission. You say that we're marginally better this year than last. That's Indianapolis-level good in the grand scheme of things, so I don't understand tempering expectations based on extremely poor and uncharacteristic play in one early season game against a really good opponent.

That's my 2¢. Again, all in good faith.
Respectfully, last years team was non-competitive in that S16 game. They were also extremely lacking their full roster. Last years team was better offensively than this team has been so far. So, when I say they're a tick better I don't think a FF is completely out of the question. But after watching Lowe against some quality competition, it's easy to see he can't defend. That's a huge problem. He, when not making stupid turnovers, makes the offense way, way better than when Aberdeen is at the point. Moreno is worlds better than Garrison, just like Amari was way better last year. Except their mins are about an equal split, just as they were last year. MO inexplicably playing 18 mins is a concern as well. It's obvious the staff is struggling with rotation pieces. I can see a world when that gets straightened out, and if all players buy in to those roles, then this team could be a FF favorite.

He can’t be taken seriously. Look at his agenda against Chandler. He moves tbe goalposts when he’s wrong like a 7 year old. Use ignore often.
Hey, I admitted this version of Chandler needs to be on the floor. If this level of play from him continues, he's worlds better this year than I thought he'd be. I had no agenda, I just didn't think he was good enough. Obviously it is looking like I was dead wrong.

People wonder why our top coaching targets always reject us, despite the bag we are throwing at them. This board is all the explanation you need.
Those same coaches look at the run Cal had and then the way the fanbase turned on him.
Now they see CMP, a former Cat, a National Champ, a bright young coach, come to a team with literally no roster when he got here, and went to the sweet 16. Universally regarded as a fantastic coaching job. He assembled a team this season that is ranked top 10, beat Purdue in an exhibition, and now loses to a very good, very fired up Louisville team on their home court. Came back from down 20 and had a shot to cut it to one with four minutes left...all without their best player...and "fans" are acting like passengers on the Titanic trying to get on a life raft. If you run off Pope, don't blame Mitch when he goes through 7-8 guys before he finds a 2nd tier guy to take the gig. Look in the mirror

If we combine this loss with our Purdue Exhibition win it's basically a wash! Tonight's game leaves me with nothing but hope and excitement for the rest of the season.
We will play more teams styled like LOU, than PURDUE, and that's what is an early concern right now.

3rd game of the year. November 11. On the road against a team that was hitting 3’s at a high level. I’ve seen UK teams struggle to beat mid majors in November at Rupp.
I’m not going to say we played great, and I was expecting a win. Here’s the thing: UL is better than I thought they were, but if we get them again in March or April, I really like our chances on a neutral court.
There were times we could have folded, but we didn’t. We couldn’t get over the hump tonight. Still, it does nothing to make me think we don’t have a shot to win it all.
I can't like this enough. I have yet to see anyone hang a banner before March (well, except Indiana).

If we lose another early game there wont be any fans alive to enjoy the March run lol.

Always gotta be that one ******* telling everyone to relax.
I’m as relaxed as you can be when your 5 million dollar a year coach and his 22 million dollar soft *** roster sucks azz
I know right. You put up so much of that $$$.
