Some Olympic events cool, some not so much

I've been catching quite a few of the Olympic Games and have been enjoying some sports I usually don't watch throughout the year. Some, because they are rarely televised and others I'm not interested in (figure skating).

I've enjoyed all of the hockey, speed skating, cross-country & biathlon skiing, all the downhill skiing events, ski jumping, bobsled, luge and skeleton

Events that I have little or no interest in include figure skating, curling and the "X Games" type of events skiing and snowboarding events. Although there is one snowboard pursuit race event that is cool because the boarders are competing against each other and there is no subjectivity from judges. I get that they are highly skilled athletes and are incredibly committed to their sport, but their sport does nothing for me as a sports fan.

How about you? What have you been watching?

Believe it or not, I've become totally hooked on curling. I took the time to learn a little about it first and decided to give it a chance. It's all about skill, strategy, nerves, and teamwork. I've watched every minute I could and I'm loving it. Also like the Alpine events, bobsled, biathlon, and speed skating.

I enjoy watching hockey live, but it's not my favorite on TV. The camera just misses to much.

I've enjoyed seeing some of our vets medal in various stuff. I kind of dig some of the girls figures, skating although I tune out 'Johnny' haircut. I was flipping around from the hockey game and Daniel Day's Lincoln so missed the tying goal but saw the o/t & shootout last night.
The girls skate tonight is reminiscent of the SNL skit of old when they stumble, OOoooh ! :D

I enjoy watching curling. I don't know much about it, but I think it's fun to watch.

Okay, I know it's been only one day, but I watched the women's Japan-Korea curling semifinal and came away with a new appreciation for this sport. The match was very thrilling as it was won by Korea on the last stone played at the end of the match. New respect for the game.

Figure skating, speed skating, skiing did it for me for the few minutes I watched.
