1. I thought Stephen Soles looked like best Edge rusher since Boogie Watson…nobody will match Josh Allen for a long time

2. Atari is a good will lb in 3-4…and he showed his ability

3. Dowdell is. It just a short down back….he had some jets as well in his pocket

That is about all I can think of right now …maybe Kattus as well.

Soles looked great. Running game looked really good. TEs looked good.

Still concerned about those inside backers. Afari got lots of tackles, but many were several yards downfield. We still struggled with outside zone. Several teams on the schedule run that well. Will be an adventure.

QB play was really bad. Way too many deep shots when underneath throws were there. Bad INT. Awful keep for the safety. Not as athletic as i hoped. Yet he was inches away from completing some really nice deep throws and has a very nice arm.

Still no faith in OC. No complimentary routes in the passing game. Zero reason to call that read in the end zone. Never sets up anything either in game or for later. Just very basic. Im going to hope it was intentionally vanilla, but this was against a team with some top 25 votes.

Kicking and punting look great. Not a fan of a defensive player returning punts and it almost cost us already.

Toledo had losses last year to WKU, Buffalo, Ohio, Bowling Green and Akron. They lost to Ohio 24-7 last year, we beat Ohio 41-6. They also lost their most dynamic playmaker. The fact that they were “receiving top 25 votes “ was a joke .

I know he fumbled, but Rodriquez is the most talented TE we have had since Tamme. He has BIG time potential IMO. Need to find ways to get him the ball more.

Khalil Saunders and the DL looked good getting some pass rush. Didn't have to blitz much.

Afari didn't lose much speed with the added weight. He has the chance to be ELITE.

No one mentioned Jagar Burton....at all. That is a great thing.

Didn’t seem like our receivers were getting any separation?

Maybe try others when that happens. Hester made a great catch and then disappeared.

I wonder if our routes are too basic. Just long balls. Seemed like nothing crossing the middle and it drives me nuts we dont throw to our running backs.

They also beat miss st 41-17 and had an impressive bowl win. They have a very solid team.

Not top 25 vote worthy imo. The bowl win was absolutely not impressive. Pitt was missing 15 players due to the transfer portal . They were playing with their 4th string quarterback.

I didn't see a lot yesterday that would temper my expectations or enthusiasm about this team. Yes, the offense has a few kinks to work out but the foundation is a strong one. An explosive running game and the Big Blue Wall II. Nothing else need be said about our D. It is fast. It is physical. It is lights out and going to be a problem for a lot of teams if not all of our opponents. And I feel even better about a possible Texas upset. They're vastly overrated and so is Arch Manning. None of our next 3 opponents have shown me anything to be scared of. Obviously E. Mich. is a cakewalk. Ole Miss has a new QB that was not terribly impressive and SC is struggling with a bad ACC team in Va Tech. Mark my words, we WILL be 4-0 heading to Athens the first Saturday in October. I know the Negative Nancies found some things to nitpick, but this team is built different. They all appear to have bought in. What they fail to realize is that yesterday was never in doubt and we basically played with one hand tied behind our backs. Two cheap meaningless late TDs belies how much a blowout yesterday really was. I'm sticking with a floor of 8-4 and a ceiling of 10-2.

“Long time” for Josh Allen means never. That guy was as good as most any program gets. He was the best defender in the country his last year at UK.

I watched Stoops’ Ole Miss presser and did not hear SS mentioned. I know the kid is raw and undersized, but that motor and bend was impressive. I think Ole Miss will know when he is on the edge.

no one said they weren't good until we beat them! the narrative on here before the game was we would be lucky to beat them!

Exactly. They were THE sexy upset pick all week long. Based on rankings, it probably wouldn't even have been an upset.

We controlled the entire game while struggling on offense. Then suddenly theyre a cupcake.

People should just stop with the veiled agenda and just start posting "i hate stoops" over and over, because at least then it would be a genuine post.

Laugh all you all want, but this team is going to be good; maybe really good. We dominated a really really good team on Saturday. I would not be at all surprised to see Toledo as the Group of 5 playoff representative. And I'll say it again slowly: WE. DOMINATED. THEM.

This. They'd have been ecstatic with a loss.

If Rodriquez is anything like Tamme, he is gem! Loved watching Tamme play.

I have seen way more MAC teams play in person than I ever care to remember and honestly, I wasn't all that impressed with Toledo.

Running game was strong. Curious to see how that works next week if passing offense continues to be pathetic.

Defense looked good until the 4th. I'm gonna hope a lot of that was prevent conservative crap.
It wasn't a change of scheme. It was multiple backups in to get snaps and they made some errors.

I can't get past Calzada going 10/23. Ole Miss is goin to embarrass him.
That's mostly on the WRs not getting open. He showed incredible touch on a few passes early, but after the tipped interception that was mostly due to a poor route of the WR, then he appeared to lose trust in the WRs, so he avoided anything contested and chose to go long when the underneath receivers were covered. I encourage everyone to watch the all 22 broadcast and it will enlighten you as to who is to blame most of the time.

Oh? And what in my post is inaccurate? Look, I know the cool kids club is doom and gloom but there's quite a bit to be excited about. I stand by 8-4 minimum. This team has too much talent to whiff in every SEC game like they did last year. And it starts Saturday.

Ok "Cool Kid." I retract my statement. 1-11 it is so that you goofs will be happy.
If you were from the rivals site you would know that I have been one of the most positive posters on that site (except for Calipari). I expected a floor of 8 wins each of the last 2 seasons. But I can’t force myself to see anything like that this year.

He was banned on the rivals site...when the merger happened the UL trolls were able to crawl back in. I guess he doesn't get much enjoyment watching his team play in that high school conference week in week out...Being an obsessed dumbazz over here is his only entertainment...The mods are onto him though...he won't last long
