MSU was a signature win, the kind that the Selection Committee will be looking for when they make their picks.

Good to get one on the board. Let's go get more. A road win against IU would be another step.

I don't get how a road win in the B1G is anything special. The gyms are empty. Just another rec league venue.......

Why are we mentioning selection committee??? We can surely go from low to high with just one win. But that surely seems excessive.

While I generally agree, there is something to be said for your home gym where you shoot a lot. There can be a different look.

Yes, a little less shine on road wins without fans. But unfamiliarity with the lighting and background can hurt visiting teams. Oakland University in my neck of the woods is an extreme example. The court is lit with a battery of klieg lights you stare straight into when you shoot

Lights, familiarity with angles, sounds, rims, backboards, etc. All still there conferring a sense of familiarity that still helps.

Not that fans don’t help. They do. With experienced teams they help less intimidating other teams than they help energizing the home team.

Because the road team is the one that has to deal with travel and all that that entails. Quirks of the arena and the baskets and all that that entails. One teams sleeps in their own beds, and the other doesn't, etc etc. The edge might not be quite as great as a venue full of people but there is still an advantage

One key thing that deserves mention is MSU was the last Big Ten team that Collins had yet to beat. Now he's beaten every team in the league. Bravo! He also now boasts two wins at Assembly Hall; should've been at least a couple more but not complaining tonight!!!
