The level of homophobia on this board is troubling. I've been a member since 2007 and rarely post. However I visit the board almost every day. That said, the number of times gay, butt hurt, and having a boyfriend is used as an insult or that something is stupid/bad/not liked is astounding.

I don't expect to change decades of language and behavior with my post. However I do hope you can appreciate how I can find it extremely insulting and inappropiate.

Please keep that in mind and do your best going forward. Thank you

Never even thought that 'butt hurt' would be considered a gay slur. Strange.
It makes sense now that I think about it, but it had never crossed my mind before. It goes to show that part of the reason people don't have problems saying those things is that they don't intend for them to be homophobic, some people are just too sensitive and take it that way.

Now I'm actually really curious

Does the term butt hurt really originate from referring to homosexuals? I've never thought about it but use it to mean someone being upset.

Just googled it and pretty sure it has nothing to do with homosexuality FYI.

Be kind guys, we do have more than our share of "Jr High" moments on here. Just ask our women members, among others.

Everybodys offended by something, or damn well should be. You just can't be offended by everything. :D Or you won't get anything done.

I always took butthurt as that feeling you had after your dad kicked your *** and you couldn't do much about it.

Either way, this language is everywhere and definitely not a corral exclusive. Having said that, sure we all say things that offends someone, but most of us don't mean any harm. It's a message board ffs.

I'm guessing that the last abrieviation is for Final Fantasy Six. You may get some butt hurt if you mean Final Fantasy 7

Remember how in junior high there was always that one table in the cafeteria where there were those guys who sat around making fart noises in their armpits and snorting and guffawing and falling out of their chairs, and sometimes you wonder what happened to those guys when they grew up?

Well...

Just because Kevin Durant and Green are boyfriends is not a homophobic slur. I am simply saying that Kevin has a bigger love for Green then friends as in Green can influence Kevin. This is how he talked him into leaving. It isn't some slur towards gay men. I would never insult a gay person by comparing them with Kevin Durant. The word ***** meant weird so if I called Kevin Durant a ***** I simply mean he is ***** in his decision to leave OKC.
