It’s unconventional, but I actually agree with Green Bay. What’s the difference between this and going overseas to scrimmage against pro teams every couple of years? Would probably actually save on travel expenses for a smaller program like that.

Got to have Law and Order or why even exist.

What's going to happen is NBA teams will eventually adopt 30 or so colleges as their minor league team.
Granted I don’t have every detail of how it works but from what I know I kinda wish it would go the route of baseball. Sign with a pro team, stay in college and get better knowing you got a place when your ready.

Agreed. I see no logical argument now to not allow it.

It’s in the summer, so the NCAA can’t claim it interferes with their season or the academic calendar. They already allow games against pros on those overseas trips, and the money shouldn’t be an issue now that CBB players can be paid. So why not?

And, from a fan perspective, the “old vs. young” dynamic would be entertaining.

Let alumni play on the team for the tournament.

Or even better, spectated exhibitions between the TBT and varsity teams.

I agree. The NCAA is such a mess right now, there’s no telling what they’ll do.

College basketball has turned into the wild, wild west and without Robert Conrad or Will Smith.

Craziest I’ve ever seen a sport change in a short time and where does it end up going?

It's leaving the fans out, IMO. Soon these teams will be competing in silent gyms.

I say "Put your money where your mouth is"

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees how having any of this would be a bad thing.

Would basically just be a way to allow a summer league for CBB. Could actually be pretty cool.
Here at Kentucky, basketball has always been PRO. You can't think of college basketball and not think Kentucky. You just can't.

And I'm all in.

BBN get to follow basketball like it never ends ? Like we always have before, right ?

Same as it ever was! (maybe everyone will actually catch up with us?)

It's ironic the one thing the NCAA has the most power over to actually do something constructively positive in this process, which is to revamp the entire officiating process and regulating that, they don't touch. (they'll go to 4 quarters per game before they ever do anything about officiating, imho)

Not with a ten foot pole.

So really, what is good about the N.arcoleptic C.ollective A.sswipe A.ssociation ? What do we need them for?

I'm just ready to see this team get to play. As it should be. It's the offseason. We get to talk about things as fans. It's what we do.

Go Big Blue !

(PS - is anyone going to derail those Pacers? I'm thinking it'll take MVP to wash away the stink of anything Indiana related...)

so enjoy the thread ....

the times, they are a changin' !

I think UK should sue to let Wall, Cousins, MKG and company use their last 3 years of college eligibility.

Four years of eligibility. Period. And if you go pro, then decide to come back, you should be able to.

How much would Ohio St. pay LeBron for the next four years? LOL!
