Where i said CNB should only be given another year if he gets to a bowl and wins it ….

well…

looks like he gets another year!!!!!!!

Neal earned another year with a 13 million dollar buyout, a good record and a bowl win. He has shown improvement in certain areas, and if he keeps trimming the fat he may figure out how to get WVU where it should be year in, year out. We'll see.

The thing the op doesn't understand is that making a coaching change has to be done in the week after the regular season ends. It's when the best candidate pool is available. Come bowl time all the best candidates are gone. If Wvu had been 6-6 like Texas Tech and won a bowl to get to 7-6 not sure why that should change anyone's mind on the season's evaluation. That wouldn't have warranted another year in my mind and probably most others.

While I think this season is more the product of an uncharacteristically favorable schedule than Neal improving, it was still an improvement. That and the buyout makes it very reasonable to keep him for another year. But after 4 years of spinning our wheels improvement for one year is nor enough. So underperforming next year relative to this year should be his last, but if he keeps improving, keep giving him time.
