Eagles followed up their masterpiece album Hotel California with The Long Run. Reportedly they recorded a ton of songs for The Long Run, which prompted critic William Ruhlmann to state in its review 'if this crap is what ended up on the record, can you imagine the **** they decided wasn't worthy?' The Greeks Don't Want No Freaks is particularly "memorable"
EDIT: I looked it up and it was actually William Ruhlmann that gave that review, not RS.
Think they wisely decided to take a 15 year break shortly after that release.

Anyone who has Bruce Springsteen on a list of "great bands" and then besmirches the good name of the Beach Boys deserves to have their genitals' boiled in hot honey and then thrown into a cage of grizzly bears.

Respectfully disagree. I had The Long Run on 8-track back in the day. Lot of great tracks to listen to.
“The Greeks don’t want no Freaks” is kinda weird but it’s the kind of song that’s not meant to be seriously. I actually like all the songs on the album except “The Sad Cafe”.
“Afterburner” by ZZ Top marked the beginning of the end for them in terms of them being a lil ole band from Texas. Some of the songs (Planet of Women) are frankly embarrassing to listen to.
To each their own but I'm betting a majority of Stones fans would list both of those songs in their top 20 if not higher. Hot take, CBB.

The other three are awesome songs. No argument with those.
If we're allowed to tread lightly on Zeppelin, I'd have to say Immigrant Song. Way too much thunder and Plant's 'vocal' is nails on the blackboard to me. Not a fan of the band so a lot of their songs grate on my nerves, but Immigrant Song is the worst

Immigrant Song is not at the top of my list either, but it does showcase the power of the band.
The Who is top 3-4 bands for me and Sister Disco socks. I think some of their catalog is genius, but lots of misses as well.
Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, if Stevie Nicks is so great, why did it require the vocals of Don Henley to save "Leather and Lace" from being a complete **** fest?

Axl slid it on the album without telling the rest of the band. None of the other guys heard it until the album had been pressed.
Terrible but disqualified for not being a band per the thread title.
I called them a great band. It's just that all of their songs stink. To be honest, I've never listened to them much. I just know how much I hate Barbara Ann and Surfin USA that nothing else they do can make up for it.
Rocky Raccoon is a very Paul song. I like it, but I can see why others don't. I love The Long Run album. I love most of the songs listed on here too. I guess my vote would be Billy Joel's Tell Her About It. I love Billy as a native New Yorker but I can't stand that entire album. (He is a solo artist but is also part of a band)
I guess I'll hold my tongue about Elton John's Crocodile Rock and Bennie and the Jets.
