Reminds me of another OSU 133 pounder who I believe made his debut against a returning national champion at Bedlam and pinned him. I was there (2016, I believe).
Didn't even need a take down. Give the kid some Whataburger fries.Maybe/hopefully one take down enough to win.
BTW, announcer said the match is a sellout! It looks it too. Needless to say the highlight was Jax’s debut!
Jax beat him like the kid stole something from him.

I thought Spratley wrestled okay with an escape, and a ride out but he couldn't get a takedown. Hendrickson did give up a stalling point but Spratley should have gotten a takedown. Jax wrestled aggressively as usual and pinned an outmatched opponent. Sergio wrestled okay but could not get a takedown against an opponent who was stalling. Swiderski is in better shape and wrestled good on his feet. He did not take the down position, maybe smart but he has been poor on bottom, and he needs to improve. Robideau looked very sharp, clean and aggressive and teched his opponent by dominating on his feet. Great match! But I don't like that we wrestled 3 straight matches without a takedown 197, HWT and 125.
I think he made the kid cry!
Why even come if you aren’t going to compete? Might as well cancel the program. 15 stall calls and no takedowns isn’t the way to go right Micco?

I get frustrated with Doucet as much as anyone, but I will say that Mora is a stall master. He was able to stave off getting teched/pinned by Wyatt last year longer than most.
The ou 125 might be the shortest D1 athlete I’ve ever seen. His stance might have been lower than Anthony Robles lol. Couldn’t believe he took down. Was no way he was going to escape.
I'm going to leave the predictions to someone who knows what they are talking about. Facundo handled Shubert with ease and Ryder had two good periods with 2 takedowns and a near fall before bad 3rd period. Merrill with no offense decisioned Parker on an escape. Parker thought it was a boxing match which he might have won on points as he had more punches thrown. The only offensive points of the night scored by OU was the Near fall by Soldano. We had 4 matches where we did not score a takedown but in 3 of the 4 OU made no attempt for a takedown and was satisfied with stalling.
TS wrestled OK. Hedrickson's no scrub. TS is better than he showed tonight for sure.
Not much to be desired from the Jax match.
SV is a mat wrestler and expert at leg defense. Hopefully, he'll get better at scoring on his feet.
CS seemingly gets better every match and it appears his lungs are getting in shape..
LR is special.
Vega had quite a stare (maybe some words) toward the OU bench after the match to show his disgust at the stalling.
Sometimes you have to wrestle smart and gut out a close match. Reminds me of Hamiti against Norman at Vegas last year. Dean did ok at the end when it really mattered.
My .02 is that GIA boogered the **** out of them.

That bunch needs to show some of the grit these wrestlers do, like Facundo did yesterday, people respect that win or lose.
I have never seen someone bounce on 1 leg for 2 minutes like Facundo yesterday.
Hamiti did it at NCAA final for long time, but not this long.
That was easily my second best moment of the night behind Jax’s pin. It made LR’s workman like TF look how-hum.
Kody R had a great win that was kind of lost in everything. 74 and 84 were great wins and you can tell that Alex and Zack have spent their time since the Nebraska dual working on somethings, as they both looked great.
Cody and Konnor need to commit to some shots. They see them, they give half attempts or fakes, but dont want to pull the trigger for real. Thats not downing them, I want them to win but its gonna be damn hard in the post season to AA without scoring more.

Last night was fantastic but OU had 133, 149. 157 and 165 that are not even rated in the top 33 at their weight classes according to flow's ratings. We did what we were supposed to do against a weak opponent. Now we do have Iowa and Iowa State in the future which will really test us.
Kellar was an AA at 157 in 2024. Not sure whats up with him currently although its his first year up at 165. Kody gave him his worst loss of the season and weve seen him down at 57 this year also so he's not a huge 65. Definitely saw improvement from Alex and Zack and it was against tough competition. Shutting out a team and not giving up a single TD is an accomplishment against any team and the fact it was OU is even better. We all know there are tougher duals to come but I for one was happy to see some of the guys improving!
