Who do you guys have as favorites?

i need to see how the recruiting goes in the privates before I pick my favorites. I'm sure we will have 3 more threads on recruiting before the the offseason starts and I will study those carefully before making my picks ;)

I hate to say this, as people will have their usual adverse reactions, but Nazareth is going to be phenomenal next season. The OL and DL will be seasoned, and the skills no longer be freshmen.

No adverse reaction here. Lots of talent in the underclass especially.

This free agency period is going to be wild. Way too many kids with the "If you cant beat em, Join Em" mentality. AKA the Lebron/Durant syndrome.

In fhe DVC:

Naperville Central should be really good. They are like the Naperville North of last year... think they have 15+ juniors starting that will be seniors next year and hungry to make the playoffs since they missed them this year.

WV should be good IF they can figure out their Oline and Dlines. They have only 1 junior starting on the lines this year - the other 8 spots are all seniors. They have 12+ juniors starting now and they are all in the skill spots and on defense (QB, RB, WR's, TE, LBers, DB's etc).

Lake Park should be an interesting team next year. They are also very junior dominant this year.

Glenbard North probably takes a step back. They have nice skill guys in the back seven retuning and I like their junior RB that backs up Tricase. But they will have a ton to replace and their Soph team does not. have a ton of varsity ready guys ready to Reload.

Naperville north - nearly the entire group of starters graduates. Same with Neuqua. Your guess is as good as mine if it's a reload situ or a rebuild situ. I'm leaning towards the latter but I haven't seen either JV team play. Did see both Soph teams play.

The Wheatons have a better balance of junior and seniors starting this year - of the two I'm thinking WWS could be a nice sleeper pick next year for a run thru the DVC.

Metea - oh boy... they have a very nice QB but they lose a ton from this years team. Could be a long season for them next year unless their JV killed it this year. Their Soph team did not have many guys ready to step up to varsity (maybe that changes over the next 12 months with the offseason weight room etc?)

In the CPL Simeon, Curie, and Morgan Park are all playing with a ton of underclassmen this year. I'm curious to see if these programs can come into 2017 with the bulk of their teams returning and do well.

Boylan has 4 soph and 1 freshman on varsity along with a 9-0 soph team coming up. Really looking forward to next season but lets see how this season plays out first.

Naperville Central is dominant at the lower levels and a great junior class. Three excellent classes together next year. They will be the team to beat in the DVC.

Agree. Neuqua is very good at SO/FR levels but NC is special. Neuqua's JR class is good but not great.

When was the last time the 3 of us agreed (maybe never:)?). Yeah - NC going to be very very good next year. I think they going to be the favorite to win the DVC. WV will have a chance - but they would have to play a handful of guys on both sides of the ball to match NC talent level.

WV Sophs - rough season but were competitive with every team but Loyola JV team. They have a handful of kids fhat will make an impact next year. 3 QBs got season ending injuries playing on the JV and Soph team played with a Frosh QB most of the season.

WV Frosh - a very very good team. Missed out on an undefeated run through the DVC Frosh. Beat Loyola Frosh handily. They finished 8-1. They lost to a Wheaton North after being up 24-0 and turned the ball over 5 times and had to put their starters back in and it was too late. I'd be willing to bet at least 4 kids from this Frosh team get moved up to varsity next year as sophomores and at least a couple will start.

Bones I believe your incoming recruits at the Brook over the next two years will be very good. As those freshmen that played varsity this year mature in the weight room and as your OC gets the offense clicking, next year has a lot of promise. Keep your head up and stop lobbying for separation, it will dilute the Illinois football reputation.

This season is over. Time to focus our sites on '17

Hard to disagree. The only two underclassmen that I know from Naz, Devin Blakely and Elijah Moscinski both have very bright futures.

Lol. I'm about to turn this into a true forum about next year!!

OMG- BR is so good again, probably number 1 or 2 in the state!!!

I Can't believe how incredible MC is!!! They are going to win it all in 7-8a!!!

Can you believe it?!??!?! LA is going to win the Super Bowl this year!!!

Holy Crap!! Naz suited up a God, and they are going to 5peat, since he's just a Frosh!!!

What a disappointment JCA is this year. I think they need to get with the times.

What's going on at Provi? Do their players even put on pads and play anymore? They should be so much better than this!

Is this a thread about 2017? Oh crap!! Naz, naz, naz, naz, naz, naz, naz naz, naz naz naz naz naz naz naz

Naz Naz Naz Naz Naz Naz Naz Naz Naz Naz

This is all a JOKE!!! Please realize I'm completely being funny and not at all serious.

What do you think of the O-line situation next year? That's the only position group that looks thin to me.

In the CCL Blue,

Loyola will continue to do their thing

MC should right there if Thomas steps up at QB and can progress

Provi and Rita will be decent and should compete at home but may struggle on the road at MC and LA. Rita will have seasoned seniors to lead them.

Rice will need to rely heavily on underclassmen as the senior class is not really strong. A tough OOC schedule and they could be outside looking in similar to Provi or MC this year.

Got a kick out of this post!!

I keep hearing about the "Insane Naz Posse" on this board - but haven't seen much insanity yet:(. Maybe the deeper Naz goes in the playoffs?:)

My prediction for 2017 is none of the Catholic schools will agree to play LWE in the regular season. Why not?!?

There are 3 returning starters-Delia at center-Bryant (T) and Rubalcava (T) has started 5 games due to the injury to Gulmulka.

Called them all this past season!
I think it's crazy that any team should travel out of state when there is plenty of Compitition right here.
Edgy, I believe tweeted that the private schools should play teams from the southland. We responded on twitter that we were available. If you want to play us, call us. We already called everyone with no luck.

Coming on a message board complaining about it should solve your problem...

Well, I guess it's time to move on then.

I know that LA and BR have scheduled out-of-state with affiliated schools of the same religious order. I believe it benefits those school communities outside of just a game of football. Why is that crazy?

ESL has called LWE before and they NEVER returned the call. I think its hilarious that a school who ignore request will come on here and try to call someone else out! Comedy
