We actually have the funds. Our academic side is just fine. Tuition freeze of 7 years and counting with an endowment to support it.

I think its wise to disengage and redirect back to athletics where UofL can make a good case for itself.

The Athletic budget is self sufficient and actually supplenents the Academic budget.
Some here are snobs who are anti sports or rather anti 7 figure payments for coaches.
The academics should take care of their side and stay out of the Athletics business.

The professors would go elsewhere for more money if someone was willing to pay. Would they give up tenure and work in a contract like “sports coaches” do? Would they be held accountable for results (grants, publications, professional standing)? No way. They always assume that dollars that go into athletics would otherwise go into academics. It just isn’t so. Those dollars would go into alternative entertainment. Jurich raised a ton of money for athletics, which offended them. But apparently not enough to get off their asses and raise their own.
The problem is Kerry for the longest time the academic side was funding your overspending by the athletic department.
AD budget is separate from university budget.

I posted an article which states that the university subsidizes the deficit from athletics. Not sure why this is being argued when the proof is right there?

The fact that UL is having to pay Bobby Petrino $14 million dollars to fire him is absolutely criminal. Why Jurich gave him that buyout is total incompetence. There was absolutely zero competition for BP.
