I liked that Moos said he is Always searching for coaches for various reasons moving on to another school/nfl/having to let one go, he said he is always searching.

Ask any AD they will say the same thing. This is nothing against Moos,

just saying that right now people will eat up whatever he is saying because Osborne endorsed him and they think he is going to fire Riley and hire Frost. If he doesn’t do both of those things, the same people calling him a genius for what he said the past 2 weeks will be calling him an idiot by December.

I do like Moos, but I can assure you it has nothing to do with the criteria you just listed.

5 weeks ago the majority of this fan base would have had to google Bill Moos also. But he must be an OK guy, he got the thumbs up from Osborne and he likes Scott Frost.

Not sure if you are agreeing or disagreeing. But I will stand by my position that just because Bob in Chester has to google the next head coach, that doesn’t make it a bad hire.

It is more that he actually SAID it on a popular Omaha Radio show, where over 50% of the states population is within radio range.

I didn’t lay out any criteria. I said that today he is a genius because he says he is always looking for coaches. If in December Mike Riley is still the head coach, Moos will be considered a failure by many of the same people calling him a genius today.

What do you think he said? This isn’t a revelation, he said he is constantly looking at other coaches. This is akin to him saying he has a list of coaches in his desk drawer. If any radio host in the country asked any AD in the country the same question, you would get the same response.

Most internet posters are flavor of the day types anyways...

5 weeks ago fans were still content on a .500 coach. They could take it the first two years, not now (Riley has to be thinking, $@&$ I thought I had them convinced I needed at least 4-5 years before they found out I'm exactly what I've always been...a great PR coach that does NOT win on an elite level)

I was basically just pointing out the same thing you referred to with this post.

OK, fair enough. But I do like Moos and it has nothing to do with a TO endorsement, an expectation to fire Riley or an expectation of Scott Frost coaching at Nebraska. I think Moos is his own man and will make his own decisions.

I like Moos and I don't really think I'll find myself in the "fire Moos" camp if he hires someone else.

But his job is rapidly shaping up to Bring Frost Home or "GTFO of Town".

Taken in the context of the entire interview, the lack of any praise for MR, the glowing review for SF, the admitting to always searching so not to be worried about Florida firing and getting a head start.... it is the entire context, sure i dumbed it down to just that one little bit, perhaps that is where i lost you

Sounds like the ink is almost dry.
For Florida right? Because we have been told multiple times that by not firing Riley now Florida will have SF signed before Thanksgiving (even though now it doesn't sound much like he's even high on their short list)

I'm not calling him a genius until he hires Frost this year.

5 weeks ago people wanted Purdue's coach. Now he sucks
This is so true. It is also a cautionary tale against hyping a coach who takes over a hapless team for a sucky program and does well for part of one season. Brohm was the latest hot coach but has now lost three in a row which included a loss to Rutgers. That is why I don't want Campbell. Just the latest flash in the pan

I wouldn't label Campbell a Brohm, beating OU and #TCU within weeks is another level. Still just want Frost.

But you want Frost? Look up Cambell's accomplishments as coach and compare with Frost and tell me which one would be considered a flash in the pan.

At least his big wins have been against real big-time teams that win a lot.

You didn't lose me. I just believe that so many people, yourself probably included, grasp on to his every word looking for it to tell you what you want it to say. I believe you are drawing conclusions that may or may not be there simply because you want to believe them to be the actual conclusions.

The interviewer steers the course of the discussion. The interviewee just answers the questions. Bahe believes that Riley should be fired, believes that Frost should be hired and asked the questions that lead Moos in that direction.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone pointed out that Frost could also be a flash in the pan. He might damn well be. But if we are going to choose our next coach from the ranks of these up and comer type coaches, I would prefer Frost, yes.
