Didn't see the whole presser, but saw were Beamer was asked about Stewart and Beamer just said Stewart told him his back flared up and he couldn't go.

He didn't answer the question with great conviction.

To be fair, these days if they're not playing for a national championship, they all quit.

My back flared up today….but I kept eating chips and watching

Okay, serious question. You called some posters "sheep" for suggesting he was mailing it in. (I wont claim to have taken either side, I didn't have strong feelings on it)

Do you agree with that now?

Not trying to be picky, just honestly curious.

Also, that was a funny post.

Stewart saw real talent and effort in #13 for Clemmers. He ate us up and is an NFL talent. Because these are now paid athletes whose only allegiance is to the $, then we have the right to not wish them well. He hasn't been a team guy, and I believe will struggle as a pro. But let him go dip his toe in and miss the days when you can take plays/games off. That won't happen in the league. Beamer is incapable of teaching that lesson, but some other coaches are teaching. The Indiana and Vanderbilt teams are truly worthy. Coached up very well. We are a floundering mess again.

Stewart has been seriously hurt with a back injury the last few weeks most others would sit out with. The fact he played is a testament to his toughness.

Apparently he's had a back for a while now, but Beamer didn't say it with great conviction.

I don't know if he quit or not. Maybe he was having back pain. Was it something he could play through if he really wanted to? If we were working on a CFP-caliber season, would he have gutted it out? Did he decide it wasn't worth the pain for an, at best, 5-win season? Or was it truly just debilitating pain?

What I know is what I saw on the field was an overall lackadaisical effort from the whole team.

Stewart was paid over $1 million, but did not produce. If he stays, he shouldn't get a dime. If Stewart says he is willing to come back next season, are we going to pay him millions again? NIL has got to be structured differently and based on performance results. These pro athletes are getting away with robbery!
