I have considered SC as UK's primary SEC "peer program" ever since they joined the conference in 1992. By that I mean both schools have a long history of great fan support despite very mediocre football. Head to head competition with UK was initially even but under the guidance of first Holtz, then Spurrier, the Chickens did what I had hoped UK could do and that was "dominate their peers" and become a respected contender in the SECE. Given Muschamp's mediocre performance at FL it will be interesting to see how he fares at SC. SC is a lot like UK in that one bad hire can undo a decade's worth of good work.
Conner was running #3 QB this spring and likely would have had little impact on SC season. Nothing is a walk over but, right now, there is no real reason to think this SC team will be as good as what UK has beaten the past 2 years. JMO.
