Davidson County youth football is pretty much in disarray. Very little consistency because most teams are managed by boosters clubs. When you throw in the attempts to inject AAU football into the mix, it's a jumbled mess. I doubt Denton fares well in that scenario.I do think it would be interesting if someone could do a study on how certain areas are more successful than others and why others struggle. A look into demographics, youth leagues, etc.
South Davidson has a good coach. Honestly, not trying to downgrade the kids there. Vince Lombardi could hire Bill Belichick, Mike Ditka, Chuck Knoll and still not win but 3-4 games a year. I have seen them play since they were Denton High School. Any kid that could play football in the 80's and 90's found their way to Thomasville. The coach in place there is dedicated and works hard. The fact he has the kids buying into working out and showing up is a State Championship caliber win. You have to have athletes and raw football talent to win games. These are good kids and play as hard as their God given ability will allow them. For that they should be applauded. They don't recruit or lure other players in to win games. They go with what they have. Much respect to their coaching staff and players.
Seen them play. Their not nearly as coached up as you claim. Terrible at fundamentals. I guarantee if Charlotte Catholic HC had these same kids, they're winning a whole lot more than 2-3 games. Talent wise Catholic kids aren't much different

Who did they hire this last time? I hope whomever it is will stick around for some time.
Look it up. Not throwing out names. He's dedicated and will do the best that he can. Works as hard as any coach in the state. He knew full well what he was getting involved with and took the job. Several coaches before ducked and ran to take assistant jobs when they were HC or offered. Respect a guy that goes in knowing that the chips aren't in his favor. How many coaches would do that?
Glad to know you can't answer a simple question, since "throwing out" names is such a big deal and all. Not like we are feeding a rumor mill here or anything.
Chad Ellington. How hard is if for you to punch keys on your computer? I could have answered it last night. Didn't know you were useless. But, considering your background I remember now.

Handy has done a great job at RHS and it helps to have the Jimmy's and Joe's to get results from a good system and coaching staff.
SD had 2-3 years where they were 2001-2003 where they were 6-6 overall and were semi competitive. Since 1989 SD has allowed over 11,100 points and only scored 3400. Murphy, Robbinsville, and other small school teams with similiar kids and athletes win every year and play good defense, move the ball and score, then why can the kids at SD not do the same thing?
It’s 20 miles and 30 minutes from Denton to Thomasville High School. Can’t say there weren’t any, but I’m not aware of any.Who were some of these players that played at south Davidson in the 80s and 90s that made their way to Thomasville,I'm just curious
