Lets get it going before y’all start your Saturday. Top 2 South Forkers still going at it and representing. Both ran through their opponents last night and show they can play. I figured East would keep it way closer or possibly upset but North showed they can run with them very well.

Thought Stokes would give Bandys a real close one since they can’t or supposivly can’t hang with a passing game but that proved wrong tonight.

Some people will look at North and think they made 3rd round playing 2 crappy/struggling teams and will be in for a rude awaking next week. I believe they’re coming on stronger and playing better now than say 4 to 6 weeks ago. If North can keep a strong running game going and put pressure on QB they can make it interesting. Not sure how they will match up.

Bandys coming to Lenior for a very interesting game. Old conference foes with coach’s very familiar with each other. I’m tempted to go watch it. Will Hibriten defense that was tested and humbled Friday have an answer for Howard his QB?

Thoughts??

Shelby and Hibriten will both win convincingly and set up a rematch from last years regional final. No offence to Bandys or North Lincoln just dont see either game being close.

SP showed Hibriten can be beaten.. West Lincoln left hope Shelby can. We’re both gonna hear the athlete vs athlete thing but bottom line is very simple... North and Bandys can and will ball! Howard and crew and Cribb and crew will bring it. I see Bandys past Hibriten in high scoring game. Howard’s a beast! Shelby has speed and passing game we won’t be used too but I bet we rearrange our manpower to contain it.
North has not been here in a long looooong time. We will be ready.

I say humbled because 28 to 20 is a wake up call after seeing 40+ and 50+ games all year for 3 years with exceptions of deep playoff games. Only seeing this on scorestream and what y’all say on here cause no FFN coverage which blew my mind is all i have(and anyone else not there).

I was at Watauga game. First one I seen all year, wanted to see a good one and see what the hype is all about and I looked on scorestream and saw 28 to nothing first quarter and I was like.....no way!!! Then I figured oh, SP must be overrated, glad I came up here ha ha.....only to look later and saw 28 to 14 and said ah snap they got life, Hibriten slippin’ Didn’t look again til I got to car trying not to slip on sleet lol. Saw 28 to 20 I was shaking my head and thought what happened tonight.

I have to agree with Northfan. Not gonna say the South Forkers got this or should have this or may have this, I’m just gonna say all 4 teams going into this one will come ready and with respect for each other’s game. It can go in all sorts of directions if there’s turnovers and overconfidence. Shelby and Hibriten will both face good big body RBs that make things happen.

North will have to play near perfect and clean up those turnovers and mental mistakes. Shelby's run defense isn't all that but they will come to play.

Hopefully the turnovers was cause of rain and wet. Of course Shelby can play in dry conditions too. How many turnovers North have last night?

I observed from FFN some good ground attack and Cribb offering to shake the refs hand after a touchdown. Ref wasn’t having it lol.

I dont recall exactly how any turnovers but the ball was on the ground a lot. North will have to throw the ball more, dont know if they will be able to.

I think North Lincoln had 3 turnovers last night....one of them was questionable (an interception by Dollar that looked like he never had complete control of the ball). The wet, cold conditions contributed some to the turnovers in the game...EL had 4 or 5.

As far as the NL/Shelby match up I think it could be a close game. The fact that WL had 251 yds rushing in their contest against Shelby tells me the Shelby run defense is not as dominate as it has been in recent years. WL couldn't defend the Shelby passing game. NL has a pretty good secondary and will be able to defend the passing game better than WL.

I disagree about NL needing to pass the ball more. They will play ball control and keep the ball away from the Shelby offense as much as possible. I expect them to mix in a pass here and there....6 to 8 maybe. Shelby makes their big defensive plays against teams that attempt to pass on them.

We know Shelby's Special Teams is very good....kick returns, blocked punts, FGs. However, NL's Special Teams is not bad. They have a good kicker and punter. I look for them to try to curtail Shelby's return game by kicking it in the end zone on kick offs and punting it away from their returners.

Obviously Shelby is the favorite in the game playing at home with all the history and tradition. A NL win would certainly be an upset, but it is possible.

When you say a loooong time...how long exactly since North was in the 3rd round?

If you think Bandys is gonna put up those kinds of points against Hibriten, you are sadly mistaken! I don't see more than 3 scores for Bandys the whole game. Hibriten will put up at least 5 or 6 TDs on Bandys. Hibriten by no less than 3 scores!!!

I’d have to agree on this. Bandys is not a bad team and is vastly improved from last year with new coach but let’s be real, they have one main weapon. Hibriten has a defense to shut him down or limit him. Bandys dont have a defense to shut Gee down. Crazy as it sounds it’s not too often a teams 3rd round will be easier than the 2nd round lol.

I've been trying to decide which game I'm going to.. I think the better game may be going on down in the "Gas House". Got to go support the Lincolnton kid against Catholic.

That’s a hard game to pass up. NWC and KM is another one that’s hard to pass up too and will pack the house. Not to mention Bandys n Hibriten. I think Hibriten has this one more in the bag than last week.

We have tied school record in wins and getting to round #3. It’s been a great season coming off 2-9. We had talent last year.. just gave up way too many points!

It sure was a good year. I was at the North/Lincolnton game. Tons of hype and tons of people there. Standing room only. North just couldn't move on that Lincolnton D that night. North had a D too but after a while something had to give. 21-7 was the final.

Ah, yes. It is all coming back to me now.
Couple of Statue of Liberty plays came up big, as I remember...one NFL player on the field. Tough fought win. Good times.

Cribb maybe had 10 yards rushing in the first half. Shelby is running the ball well.
