Hey I agree with his choice of school. If the military is gonna pay for your entire school and all you have to do is commit 6 years of you life afterwards for a second to none education and that's what you wanna do go for it. I think it's a great choice if that's what he wants to do after college. Great pay as an officer and job security.

I'm sorry ILB did over pursue. I meant to say lineman shot the outside gap and blocked off Outside linebacker but like I said great play call. Who would thought that play would be coming from your own endzone lol. Could have went very bad but it worked lol.
ivy League education.. Fbs football and a paycheck the entire time you’re there...that’s tough to beat.
I drive 7 hours every Friday to watch my son play and drive back on Sunday.
For our game against Maiden I believe we finish the season with a win. We have been right there in most of our games this season but our offense is just that bad and we can't seem to get over the hump and finish, which I can't believe I'm saying that Lincolnton is struggling on offense. I have not been impressed with Maiden at all but we tend to struggle against passing teams this season so that worries me. For all our shortcomings this season and everything that has happened I am proud of the young men that have stuck it out and continued to fight every week. I expect us to play some jvs Friday night to get them experience for next season.
I believe this may be the first thread we have had this season make it to three pages. Love to hear the comments and perspectives.
I agree wolf. Lincolnton is always a rivalry for West. Contrary to to popular belief; the players from Lincolnton and west actually get along and have alot of respect for each. Way different from 25 years ago. Also I have a connection with a couple kids on that team and hate to see them struggle but then again my son plays for West lol. Maiden will play hard I think and it could very well come down to who has the ball last.
It has been a hard season and were not used to many of those over here in the city but hey, it is what it is and we will regroup and get it figured out. We got the talent but many are not playing football for some reason... First time not making the playoffs since 97 I believe.
What's Lincolntons outlook for next year. I know you can never count them out. Burke made the comment about Tom Knott's and witches brew. Lincolnton just always seems to have players. It's like they go out back and pluck a few out of the garden when they need some lol. Who even heard of Harris being a football player until last year and where did McLean come from? My Gosh. In my opinion Harris didn't have the size that the Surratt boys had but probably one of the top athletes to come through this area in a while. Unbelievable athleticism.
I think Lincolnton wins. Hard to believe losing litllejohn helped... but it appears you are a far stronger team without him. You got two good backs and #32 is fast!
17, you are correct about us not having an identity. Its hard to get consistency when you're switching up schemes every week. In my humble opinion we are not running what best fits our personnel. As for the future, our jv team has some players on it and there is a group at the middle school that I have been told can be special if they work at it. Our biggest problem is for whatever reason we are having a hard time recruiting the halls and getting kids who should be playing to play, I have also heard that our weight program has fallen off which is not good. I have faith we will get it figured out because our alumni will not allow us to suffer for long. We have certain standards over here and right now we are falling short miserably.
That's one thing our junior class has right now. They are gym rats, been that way since February. My son has put on 25 lbs. Since February and his lifts are great. If they can get the majority of the junior class and sophmores moving up in there. They will be good next year also. My son's goal is at least 210 by next season. He is 185 now from 160 last year. Only drawback is other sports. We have alot of all state wrestlers on the team that will not gain weight unfortunately. Also this size may hamper my son's baseball but he knows he has to work twice as hard when football is over to get ready for baseball. Next year will be interesting as well.
Yea Tysaun was fun to watch last year.. I think he set a county rushing record against us.... Fun to watch at track too. West.. size is good for baseball too.
Size is good in baseball. You just have to stay lose and stretched. Too big to fast without that means too tight in upper body which will affect your swing. Harris was freak on the basketball court also. Just so athletic. He could leap out of the gym at 5'10" or 5'11" whatever he was. I would stay for the Varsity basketball game after the jv against Lincolnton just to watch him lol.
He broke Brandon Wilson's single game record he set against Polk County in the playoffs in 2010 I believe. Over 350 yards.

Only ones I got, small family. So I kinda let the school grow on me. East Burke ain’t doing anything and won’t be for a while or ever so I’m glad to see North doing something and I’m always supportive of Freedom when they do well cause of friends, in-laws, wife, best man at my wedding went there.

Correct. Unless something crazy happens somewhere else, which if Brevard beats Pisgah Friday it could shake some things up possibly.
Pisgah highly favored over Brevard? Those Brevard boys been doing pretty good here lately from what I can see. And if North can upset Bandys it’ll really shake things up.
I think that game will be close. I saw pisgah this season and they are solid but not a title contender my any means. If you are barley beating Franklin by a touchdown in a down year good luck against SP in the second round.
