What to think on -
Does Bunker Hill even care or they that bad? Could be one if not the only win for East Burke
West Lincoln had a lot of underclass talent last year and it’s showing now. Could they actually finish top 3 and even upset Lincolnton and EL? Will be bigger score against CVille than one may think.
NL has never beat Foard, can’t see them doing it now but this year will be their best chance. Foard also stayed somewhat close to Maiden so odds are against the Knights even though they had soild scrimmages and played a good game against what was a state ranked 1A team if I’m not mistaken and coulda beat them but let off the gas like they typically do.
The Green wave gets it done and runs over what seems to be a good defense hence I predict a low score.
Hickory will be ok and is improved. Should hold up well against a team that lost some talent. Hopefully make the ACentral upset of last year mean something that they really are improved and ready to play. Could be wrong (shoulder shrug)
Ltown gets their first win, hadn’t seen NG do anything since 06’ I believe it was. Rest of games I don’t have any input on.

Yup. 49-27. They have some good athletes they just play in a tough conference. If they ever dropped to 2A they could be a decent program

I guess I’ve lost touch with them, used to seeing them lose so much but like you said, tough conference. NL played em’ well in a scrimage last year which gave me some hope they’d be ok....only to win 2 games lol.

Maybe I sounded too hopeful in my NG prediction. Ltown comes away with a one score win. I believe in U guys
I’d give Lincolnton about a 20% chance at winning this week, but no way they hold North Gaston to 7 or 10. NG has two very explosive weapons at QB and RB. I just hope to see some improvement out of the offense again this week.
NG, very good on offense. Not so good on defense. I wouldn't suggest a shootout with them. 11 and 24 can take to the house anytime they touch the ball.
Like Ltown said, I'm just looking for some improvement this week from last week and hopefully we can get our first win and some confidence when we play East Gaston. Right now I'd say top 3 in this conference will be Maiden, Newton/Bandys or West.
We scrimmaged Bandys, they have a good football team. As for us, we are worse than we were last year, so you will get a win easy.
Trust me we're not far behind you guys. Hopefully things can get turned around soon for the both of our programs
Lincolnton never stays down long. And I’m sure they’ll never be in a bad way that West Caldwell has come to. I can’t see them staying that way either.

If East can cut down on the turnovers they very well could be better than people are giving them credit. I mean for the Maiden fans to be saying no one in the conference has any chance against them after only 1 or 2 games is ridiculous. Any or all the teams in conference can still change things.
I wouldn’t blink if Bandys won the whole thing. They put more on Foard than Maiden did and did a work on St Stephens. Saint ain’t a bad team either.
If I'm not mistaken there has only been 1 Maiden fan that's said no one else has a chance, he doesn't speak for all of us. Going undefeated last year hurt us, evident in that 1st round loss. This team is hopefully more level headed and I'm optimistic for a 2 loss season at worst. We were flat and sloppy vs FTF. We won't have any solid feel for how we handle big talent until we play Bandys.
So you think EL and Lincolnton won’t be as challenging? The Newton Hickory game tonight will tell a lot about how much talent subtraction really took place. Not saying Hickory is a major threat to be a big winner in the tri county unifor area but they are getting better. They did upset AC last year so it’s possible they can walk away with at least 10 to 14 pt victory against Newton. If it happens y’all shouldn’t fear Newton too much. NL and WL I wouldn’t sleep on. North has prob one of the best RBs in conference in Cribb who has improved since last year and has a high football IQ with running lanes and getting the most yards every play but with their defense prob no threat either. WL, they can do damage too. Big linemen and 2 good RBs. It’s all gonna be or CAN be tight. Y’all have it better than Hibriten ha ha. Rest of their conference behind Hibriten and Foard is lower level of competition (at least for now) than the 1A 2A Mtn teams around Wilksboro.
I said Bandys because that will be our first conference game. We have always typically had an easier non-conference schedule and I refuse to predict our season based off of noncon opponents. I'll never count out Linc or EL, nor Bandys nor Newton...more times than not, teams bring their best when they play Maiden. I wouldn't expect any different this year.
However, burkeman, you do a whole lot of comparing outcomes between like opponents. That's a no no and I know that you know this. How we play FTF and how Bandys played FTF has nothing to do with how Maiden vs Bandys will go.
I get what your saying and I’ve seen examples of how not to do that. But sometimes when we’re just talking and predicting how team A done against team B is all we have to go by til the first snap and end of first quarter etc
East Lincoln offense played alot better. But they still have a ways to go. Defensively the stangs must get better rotation of players. At the end of game they looked worn down and exhausted. There was next to no substitution at all for the defense. The same 3 Defensive lineman played the entire second half without any substitutes. All we can do is get back to work. You have 71 players who practice in 90 degree heat every day for months. We must learn to substitute our players. I blame this one on coaching. I honestly believe that with fresher players we would have won this game.
North finally beat Foard after 5 or 6 attempts ha ha. Not a monster win but they’ll take it.

Not anything. South Davidson one of the worst programs in the state. Dumped their season two years back.
I thought Highland Tech was the worst program in the state. Obviously SD is the worst in the state and the country.
So I have a question???? Maybe everyone can help out. East Lincoln is running a 3-5-3 defense this season. What is to stop teams from just running the ball like crazy??? I know we are only in week 3 but it just seems to me that at the end of games teams are just pounding it straight up the middle!!! I dont think a 3-5-3 in high school is a good defense. Would love to hear y'alls thoughts on this. Maybe you know other teams who have tried it.
Prob cause they feel confident in stopping the run and will be more prepared with that setup for the pass
