Ok I’ll start it! This game will go a long way towards deciding who’s who in the 3A Big South. I don’t have a prediction for the game other than I think it will be close. I don’t see a runaway either way. Both teams have shown some weaknesses early on. At this point of the season both teams are beginning to recognize their strengths. Penalties, mistakes and turnovers will most likely be the deciding factor.

While I agree, both teams are not the teams to exploit the weaknesses of the others. Both teams struggle in pass coverage. If SP throws it 3 times a game, Crest will throw it 5 so nothing big enough to matter.

Who can take the pounding will be a bigger question. Crest is going to run #2 right at SP, with no real tricks. Just as South Point is going to run #31 right at Crest, with no real tricks.

Winner scores 28 here, anything higher then that would surprise me.

Wait a minute. Your whole offense is a trick offense.

Reminds me of the Elmer Fudd quote “Which way did he go? Which way did he go?

I feel like last two times they’ve met it’s been one Crest drive or one South Point turnover has been difference. Those were also season openers so guys should be pretty settled in. This could be a 21-20 type game with Crest facing at least one 1st and 35 plus.

SP never "gets" calls. They're known for playing clean, smart football while watching many other programs do idiotic things. They literally get more bad calls than these other programs that do the obvious self-imposed penalties. We should never get a hold call between the tackles....for the same reasons most people b#!tch how we block. Also, we never get "the call" when we're held on the defensive line rushing passer or vs. the run. Seen it for 30 plus years.

Come on now “NEVER”, that’s a pretty strong observation. Refs are refs. Some are better than others. I’ve been watching the Red Raiders since the early 70’s. I’ve seen good calls, terrible calls, missed calls. I’m sure at times there are refs that flat out like or don’t like SP for one reason or another. It happens to every team everywhere. I personally wouldn’t want the job. COME ON ZEBRAS!

Well it’s almost time for Friday night football! Better make sure the Boiling Springs Fire Department is on standby as this one looks to be a barn~burner. We know the raiders will run most everything offensive play. We know the chargers like to run the ball as well, but can successfully pass the ball whenever needed. What we don’t know is which team will have less penalties and fewer turnovers. These factors could very well be deciding factors.IMHO SP 24 / CC 21. Wishing all the players and fans a safe and fun-filled night in the Corral. Go big RED!

I remember when this game was the last conference game of the season and normally always for the conference championship...SP usually won but I digress...nothing is normal anymore today though.

Crest OL will be heavily tested tonight. Big time atmosphere. SP has a few players on the D line that are aggressive and strong. Crest DL will have their hands full tonight trying to stop everything. This might come down to whoever has the ball last.

I think you nailed it. Penalties and turnovers will be the difference.

Playing at Freedom is like the game in Remember the Titans when the refs are trying to get Denzell fired.
I am sure the refs tried to give the Titans the business, but Hollywood had to make the games close or why watch as the real Titans bludgeoned mostly everly school in the path.
