I would appreciate if someone would explain what technical adjustments Southern Miss made too make the game so entirely one sided the second half on both sides of the ball.

Kept our offense off field. We didn't have time to make adjustments to the defense because as soon as they were off field they had to go right back there. Bet they didn't have time to finish a glass of water, let alone scheme around what was going on.

That is no excuse that they ran on the defense. In my mind it was up to the offense to win that game and probably every game this year. If they didn't make adjustments on defense then UK offense failed because they should have just keep doing what got them the lead.

That's why you never take your foot off the gas and that is a hard lesson for Stoops to learn it seems. A win is a win 50-30 is better than a loss.

How do you think stoops took his foot off the gas on offense the second half? Your kiddin right? We threw it 9 times, ran it 6 to boom( were out most productive plays minus the screen pass)

When we give it to boom we need to let stoops stay out of offense, when we don't he needs more touches. We have he greatest coaches with retrospective in America on this board. .

I know there is little defensive depth on this team at least in the front 7. What I am still trying to figure out is why what little depth we do have wasn't used. Why was Love on the field every defensive snap and Elam what around 80% of thee snaps. The only benefit we could get from that is teaching Elam how to dig down deep when he has absolutely nothing left.

With So. Miss running it down our throats when players get gassed. You should take them out for at least one series. I would prefer a little drop off in talent from a player with a full tank rather than having your best with 35% left. When player get really fatigued they tend to make more mental mistakes and errors.

If they would have rested the starters for one series towards the beginning of the fourth quarter. It could have been the difference in getting a stop with a more energized less talented unit. Or the #1 coming back out rested and getting a stop.

You would rather see players that had given up 28 unanswered points down by 2 then player's with fresh legs. Albeit a little less talented they had a better chance of getting a stop at that point. Our D was virtually on the field the entire 3rd quarter.

If the 2nd team could have managed a stop yes a field goal would have retaken the lead. If they could have held them to a field goal a TD would have retaken the lead. A stop or holding them to 3 would have give us a little momentum and momentum is huge in football. Saying if all that did happen our first team could come back out with fresher legs and momentum on their side's with a better chance of getting a stop. Plus city would have benefited our backups to see the field and get more crucial experience before facing a more talented team in a hostile environment the following week.

We had a great first half system of pass rush and blitzes that Eliot promptly flushed down the ******* as soon as the second half began. They were able to take momentum into the locker room and when they were no longer harassed on passing plays by our defense beginning in the third quarter, we began having to respect their passing, thus opening us up to the run.... And run.... And more runs. At least that's how I see it.

For once in his OC career, Dawson called a decent game. Eliot, however, shat in his proverbial bed.

Dawson took what the D gave him 2nd half. Which was the run and in doing so gave everyone a blueprint to be us. The first half he was a little more pass happy. He may have thought our secondary was over rated and wanted to test it. Our corners are still young and our 3rd corner is no slouch in Harmon.
