I just hope Red Raiders can generate some offense. Defense was not bad at Crest. Also no fumbles.

Probably see a different Raider team. Crest was a very challenging opponent to open the season with especially considering we were breaking in a QB to run the Redbone offense who would have not been the QB expected to be under center for the 2019 season. The QB roll in directing an offense as complicated as ours is critical. This kid is going to work well but we will have to be patient with his growth. He will get better and with that we are going to be better. It appears the Wolves are still working to rebuild their program. Always had much respect for them and their loyal fan base.

Failed to mention.....CREST SUX!!!!!!!!!

Defensively the Wolves are not bad against the run but SP is just a different animal. Our pass defense is not good. Offensively we are lacking in the beef department upfront and do not have the normal homerun hitter that we normally do. I do believe by conference we will be improved, but not this week.

I like what Glass has done so far. These kids look like they’re buying in and The effort is there. Just having a hard time generating offense. Not much of a running game so far. We have a lot of quick, athletic players who are interchangeable but most of them are very small. I’d predict something like 28-7 SP in this one but I hope I’m surprised. Schedule should lighten up considerably after this week.

A couple of years ago, Thomasville was looking for a coach. I wasn’t part of the search committee but did some informal checking with knowledgeable football folks around the state. Other than our Coach Robertson, the name that kept coming up was Coach Glass. He’s well thought of in the coaching fraternity.

I do not believe we could have made a better hire. Folks just need to be patient and let him lay the foundation for a successful program. Hate to say it, but the past two seasons have really set the program back in more ways than one. Kids are buying in and want to play football again.

Glass was liked by everyone in Morganton while at Patton. His name came up several times for Freedom job but never happened. I look for him to do good things at Ltown!

Go Wolves. Give it your best. Plus 1 for Seadog28. I was looking forward to a Raiders rematch with Hibriten, late in November, but I got a feeling that may not happen since The Panthers lost lost their opener to Alexander County.

By the way, I know you have had ties to the Charlotte Catholic program. I haven’t seen any posts from Footsoldier, yet. I saw on Maxpreps where The Cougars next game was against “Our Lady of Good Counsel”.
I saw that on a sign, once. I think it was near Washington.

OC, congratulations on the Bulldogs win over Albemarle.
I wonder how good Montgomery County might be.
I know this game has a Thomasville connection. I’ll be pulling for you. If you get to drive down I hope you enjoy it.

Here is for a good showing tonight. Good Counsel is in Montgomery County (NW of DC) and is a local power in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. Their rival is Dematha Catholic a national power that has for years produced household names in both football and basketball.

Thanks Lincolnton!
Wouldn’t miss this one for the Bulldogs. Headed down with my son, the kicker, and the King. Coach Brown was kind enough to get us a special parking place close to the bleachers. Unlike his flag waving days, the King doesn’t walk as well as he used to. Tells me he has to do his coaching from the stands instead of the sidelines these days. Hope it helps. Some pretty stout coaching on the other sideline!
Best of luck to the Wolves.

Thanks, OC. Coach Brown is certainly the man. You guys have a good time.

LHSfaninVA, thanks for the information on Our Lady of Good Counsel. This might be a toughgame. For Charlotte Catholic.
I’ve wondered where in Virginia you might reside. For some reason I had you in the Tidewater area. Thought maybe you were in the Navy and stayed there, but now, I’m guessing you’re in northern Virginia...whatever part you are in I hope they’re good to you.

My man, Lincolnton! Not a finer gentleman in all of the piedmont. Hope life is treating you well.

Foots is living in retirement bliss and can be found on the 3a boards. After the dismantling of South Meck, he is in fine spirits. Look for him there (3a boards).

Hopefully our paths will cross again soon, my friend.

Lincolnton, I am in Alexandria, VA or two exits from Washington, DC and if all things go according to plan I should make it to Memorial Battleground Stadium sometime this evening.

I was happy with the Wolves effort. And I hope the SP fullback isn’t hurt too badly. It was an injury plagued game. We lost our QB early, SP’s QB went out and came back in a couple times. Not a lot of offense to talk about. I was impressed with the play of our freshman QB who had to come in and play unexpectedly. I think if SP gets their QB, FB and Ray Rose all healthy at the same time they’ll be hard to deal with. Defense is strong. Good luck to the Raiders the rest of the way.

Seadog, thanks for the Info on Footsoldier. All the best to you and him. Congratulations on the Raiders win. I look to see them deep in the playoffs. It would be good to see you, both.

LHSFan in Va, thanks for the information. First time I ever heard of Alexandria I was a boy. The TV was forecasting a snow storm but it didn’t get cold enough here and rained instead.
My Father had a radio on, early the next morning, and the announcer said it has just begun to snow in Alexandria Va. I looked at a map of Virginia in a World Book and saw it located on the edge of Washington, DC. I was wanting to see it snow
And remember thinking they were fortunate because they got snow.

I'm glad to see my friend, Lincolnton, back on the boards and posting again. Good luck to your Wolves this year.

Cheerduck,
It’s always good to hear from you. Hope everything is well for you and the family. I had a few days off, last week, but it’s back to work this week.
We got to have lunch sometime soon. If that’s a possibility could you mention something to 65 Lion.
