You are exactly right, they could win if they played lights out all 4 quarters. Unfortunately this team does not show the willingness to do this, since it happened so infrequently this year. I hope I am wrong but I believe this is the end of 2014 for the Raiders. Probably by halftime. We will be there but I dread sitting on those uncomfortable concrete visitor's stands. Something about that place that is different (and in a bad way) than any high school football stadium I have ever been in. I might even prefer the aroma of West Rowan visitor's seats over this place.
I hate to be the one to tell all you Belmontans but your season is gonna end Friday night. I mean let's be real about it. Concord gonna take of business just like they did last year. I'm not even a Concord fan. I just know how you mighty midgets do around this time of the year. YOU GO HOME AND CRY AND TALK ABOUT NEXT YEAR! Well instead of crying this year just go ahead and start Thanksgiving early. Go stuff your fat faces with grannies cornbread and pecan pie. Oh yeah I'm sure you could watch a livestream game of Shelby or Crest next Friday cuz those guys will still be playing. YOU WON'T!
By all rights, Concord should win this game and win it handily. SP needs consistency and just does not get it. They look like champions on one drive and then look lost on the next. SP D is improving and it is predominantly underclassmen who are shining, but stopping Rocky and the QB will be too much. Certainly glad that Concord graduated the two LB's from last year. They gave our offense fits.
Agree with 73 that there is something about that stadium that is different. The color of the field and that Spider web creates an unusual atmosphere. Kinda like Halloween every Friday night.

Pumping up SP for this game is equivalent to the pumping up of Freedom over the last few weeks. Kind of fun to talk about, but overall, kind of a useless thing to talk about.
Concord is overrated. I find it alarming that they barely beat Mt. Pleasant 20-14. Wouldn't be surprised at all if South Point wins this game.

The one thing about South Point though, is other than Crest, their losses were very close. I don't count them out, but pumping them up is another thing.

South Point beating Concord will be anything but an upset. I think SP will win it this time! JMO!
Sasha you are correct about most fans didnt think that South Point would qualify for the playoffs. Overachieving? Nope. None of us expected the Big South 2a/3a to be the worst conference East of I-77. Luckily for SP, the NCHSAA added 2 patsies, LNC and SCramer to go along with perennial losing programs North Gaston and Huss thereby guaranteeing you 4 wins. Making the playoffs in that conference was easy.

Concord way too much for the midgets ...plus they'd have nightmares all week if they did win. SP does not want to play Crest again.....It would age Seadog at least 10 yrs. The midgets aren't familiar with rd three even tho this ain't their best team ever.
9496, either your memory isn't very good or you are a revisionist historian, the latter being unforgivable in my opinion. We made it to the 3rd round last year and the year before. In fact, the year before last a certain team from Cleveland County lost in the 2nd round to us.

The truth is that Crest hasn't won anything in a decade. Maybe they consider all those choke jobs over the past 10 years as championship moral victories? We all know that's just the loser mentality shining through.
If we're really lucky, they may start telling us about their rival Shelby's accomplishments and how they are only 7 miles apart. I don't really understand this tactic to be honest, are they trying to smooth over their deficiencies by trying to associate themselves with a historically superior program? Time will tell I guess.

I don't even know what this thread is about. Nobody on earth said SP wouldn't make the playoffs. We are well aware of what conference we play in, so another delusional *Crest fan chiming in with pointless attempts at communication. The conference is bad, but still better than the one *Crest plays in; still SP fans are aware that 2 JV teams playing varsity and NG (not sure what they are) were still in conference.
We aren't fooled into thinking we're real good.....but 4-6 teams make playoffs every year. Our non conference schedule (to some of us) didn't look promising, and that came to light soon enough. But, SP team has gotten better. To expect no fight out of them this Friday night is laughable. I'm sure *Crest wouldn't like to see SP again because the odds of *Crest beating SP twice in the same year is about as likely as 99% of your fans getting a good report card from the dentist.

Cleveland County BullCharger fans can say that they want the Raiders again,but we know that, under all that bravado, they would be sweating bullets all week. SP has gone to the ranch on multiple occasions as a multi-TD underdog only to see the home side headed to the parking lot in the 4th quarter wondering what just happened. They console themselves with moonshine and swear it will be different next time. You can say it ain't so, but Raider fans and anyone else who has followed this series know my words to be on target. They would be "skeert" as they say in CC.

I think SP will get their points. Only question is can they slow down Concord running game enough. Concord doesn't have those two monster LB's this year so SP should have some success running the ball. If the SP coaches are smart they will add a few kamikazi passes and Muse on some sweeps. Dude is big time fast.

Was Concord's schedule front loaded? Or did they just take a little time to get things sorted out and rolling this year? Several close games at the start of the season and a bunch of blowouts later on. Having not seen them play this year, I don't know what to think other than they've beat everyone in front of them.

Yall are again this year overlooking things,, if you think its all Rocky yall will be shocked again... we are 3 deep at RB with sets from 1 to 3 on the field at the same time. sometimes 2 and running sets at wildcat.. sets with 4 or 5 WR's or just 1. a field goal girl kicker who has hit from 33 yrds out.. And if you are still searching or hoping about the LB spots being easier, well so be it. Come tail gate at 5 in the parking lot like last year,, talk trash beside the field house like last year.. its all good.. but over look us again.

we got lucky this year, i dont think so.. if your not here every week your not seeing it. not seeing how rocky is taking out and our 2nd and 3rd string rb's are doing what most high schools would love to have as there starting rb's.. nobody is calling you underdogs at least not myself as we have the hardest road to travel in the playoffs as any team.. Concord is undefeated and sp has lost 4 games, that seems like sp would be an underdog to me, but I know how u concord fans like to think that you're always the underdog and nobody thinks u will win. Look most sp fans know we aren't expected to win this game so nobody is overlooking concord, and as far as last year goes.... what does that have to do with this year?? Anybody going to talk about this one anymore? South Point could easily have entered the playoffs with an 10-0 (10-1) record and been a number 1-4 seed. If they only had the one loss to Crest, and had won those games that narrowly lost, there would be a lot more chatter.
