Anybody going to talk about this one anymore? South Point could easily have entered the playoffs with an 10-0 (10-1) record and been a number 1-4 seed. If they only had the one loss to Crest, and had won those games that narrowly lost, there would be a lot more chatter.
Will SP fans show up at Concord? Or has the towel been thrown in?
Nice try pal. SP has beaten exactly two teams with winning records I believe. One was last week (and they're not over .500 any more) and the other was 2a Shelby. So, I thnk SP has a chance as always. We definitely don't have the skill we had on the field last year, but I THINK we're better in some other crucial areas (both sides). But, I also know that Concord isn't the same team. Best player on the field last year by far was 44. Man amongst boys.
If we gang tackle tonight hopefully it can be kept close. What I think will happen is we'll do our normal stacking of the box vs. run, and blitz a lot and Concord will eat us up with screens and the pass downfield. My prediction: Concord 28 , SP 20.
SP shows up everywhere. Although this has been the lowest crowd attendance I've seen in my 40 plus years of attending games....still it's 2nd round SP football. Expect us to have more people than them, and them to have more points than us.
SP leads the series 3-1 as of right now. So, a Concord win tonight, and they will hold a better win % (40%) than *Crest does vs. SP.
