SP VS EG

You will and easily. SP is one of the best, if not the best team in 2A. East Gaston is one of the worst. I expect SP will likely score on every possesion and maybe a few of ours. I hate it, but it is what it is.
Hate the season has been so bad for the Warriors, egfan. Although I have never met you or Tarheel Warrior, you guys have been faithful through a lot of bad years. However, even those teams gave everything they had on Black Friday; hope to see some effort Friday night.
Totally agree with Sasha. Some posters disappear after their team loses a couple of games. The EG guys have been here during some down years. Expect SP to win this game handily on Friday night.
Sometimes you hear, we aren’t as bad as our record. But this year’s addition of the Warriors are. Our only win was a gift from North Gaston. We have been blown out by team’s that are fair (Bessemer City, Cramer) to really bad (Lincolnton, East Lincoln, Blacksburg).
Thanks....I have many many SP friends and family (I'm even married to one), but I'll never give up.
Wish I could come on here with something meaningful to add. You all have seen the scores, you know the series record... I just wish it could get back to being somewhat like it was in the mid-2000s. Odds always were that the Raiders would win, but at least we had a chance and that alone would be enough to put a little pep in my step to jaw with you all in good nature. I really miss those times. It was fun.
SP JV's won 50-0 last night. We lose some good players this year, but have some talent in the system.
Now I love my Raiders and want them to win by a large margin, but I have to admit I feel for the Warriors. With SP already on the board, 7-0, the East Gaston QB threw the ball up on a hope and prayer and connected with a receiver for a TD, only to have it negated by penalty - not a block in the back as you might expect, but for a stupid facemask call. OUCH!
Everyone knew this game was going to get ugly and it did. However, I felt that EG played with a lot of heart. The Creamer kid at QB is a player and is only a sophomore. Don't know the big RB number 44, but he had some nice runs. The O line and D line for EG made a lot of plays but SP beat them with a number of big plays on the ground, in the air, and in the return game. Glad to see the backups get some run. Backup QB Hale with another nice 50 yd TD run. That kid has some wheels. JV QB and FB got some plays in on the last series. Even with the score, I was impressed with how hard the EG team played. On a negative side, the refs were abysmal. Seems that they felt the need to throw a flag every few plays and it didn't matter which side they threw it on.
Even though they expected to get trounced and did, they still lived up to the name of Warriors, which is why "Black Friday" still matters.
