I couldn't get through the original because it was awful.

Masterpiece= Blazing Saddles & Young Frankenstein.

I thought that they already made the "sequel" with much hotter chicks who really know how to handle Lord Helmet....

I've seen some pretty terrible opinions on RR and the Paddock but this one ranks right up there for the shittiest of all time.

Spaceballs deserved Academy Awards for how good it was.

I'd be up for History of the World Part II, but I'll pass on Spaceballs 2. It's been too long and too many of the primary actors are dead.

Sort of agree, but with the caveat that there is so much more material with which to work. The prequel trilogy is ripe for parody (or is it too easy?), and it has few carryovers characters. If Spaceballs 2 went that route, the dead actors thing doesn't really matter. I'm interested, but it will probably be terrible.

Today's culture would KILL Blazing Saddles. I love that movie, but it's the most offensive, politically incorrect film imaginable. It's twue. It's twue.

History of the World Part II was made as a series on Netflix/Hulu/Prime/WhateverTF. Not terrible, but not that great.

Hollywood just continuing to show their lack of creativity. Can’t ever make anything new.

Josh Gad is set to star, and will produce alongside Mel Brooks.

Josh Greenbaum will direct the film from a screenplay by Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Gad, while Kevin Salter will executive produce. The project is in early stages, and plot details are being kept under wraps.

I'm not familiar with Josh Gad or the writers or producer. I'd feel a lot more confident in this if Brooks was writing it.

Josh Gad was Olaf in Frozen. He was also in the original cast of ‘book of mormon’

Josh Gad apparently posted that the script "may be the funniest and best thing I've ever worked on" and that he's "so freaking excited". If it's as good as The Book of Mormon, then it'll be great. Here's hoping.

I'm pretty sure we'll get a Rick Moranis appearance too, even if it's just a cameo.
