What was Stoops reasoning for not hiring one! It has became apparent that this has been a complete disaster! We are dead last in field position in all of Division 1! I just don't remember the reason he gave for this! No money! Or more money for him! I am starting to question his ethics and morality in his much talked about desire to have this job! It is looking more and more that it was about financial security! Barnhardt has had 1 above average hire since being here and that is Brooks! Don't be fooled into thinking it was him who pushed for Calapari! If not for Mike Pratt we would be still in the doldrums in college basketball!

Limited number of assistants are allowed. He hired another position coach, extra lb coach I believe.
Said it once and I will say it again. Find Mark Nelson and hire him on the spot. A great special teams coach when Morriss was here. Get rid of Andy Buh and put Eliot at LB coach and hire Bud Foster as DC. Pay the man.
Bud Foster is Va Tech's DC and ST coach. His hometown is Somerset and he played at Murray State. He's about to get passed over as HC for Va Tech, a position that he has waited 20+ years for. Pay the man what it takes. That said, it makes perfect sense, which is why it will never happen at UK.
Won't ever happen. First of all, Foster will command a top salary which UK will never pay to a football asst. Never. Ever.
Secondly, it was mentioned last week that Foster's D is much different than what Stoops wants. Think he may be a 4-3 guy. And I doubt Stoops could dicker with Foster the way he does with Eliot. It's a good thought DA but will never happen I'm afraid.
I wouldn't go that far on not paying for a top assistant. I don't see any way around hiring a game manager and it will probably be at Dawson's and Schlarman's expense. Coach Stoops has said he wanted someone to run the offense in the past. Well he also needs someone to manage the game , probably from the booth. Its probably going to have to be someone that wants to get back in the game and MB is going to have to pay dearly.
The question is can Coach Stoops get out of the way on offense. My opinion is he is going to have to or this is going to get worse than it already is. Hopefully it is so obvious to MB that we are searching right now and something can be announced right after the UL game.
