Is YT TV the best one stop shop? Sorry to treat this like my personal Google but googling this stuff is remarkably unhelpful.
No problem. Glad to help someone out. It's what I have but I've never really tried anybody else. It doesn't have A&E or Vice TV. One nice thing about YTTV is that you can customize the channels in any order you want them. And different people can have their channels in different orders. There are no channels per se anymore. There is not answer to the question what number channel is ESPN on YTTV. They don't have numbers, just names. Unlimited DVR but it only lasts 9 months so you can't keep something on there forever. The only other one I would really consider is Hulu Live/Disney/ ESPN Plus bundle. That would get you those other 3 games I talked about because you would have the cable and ESPN Plus together. If you're the type that likes other UK sports you definitely want to consider ESPN Plus. You can see pretty much all of the volleyball games on there and they are pretty fun to watch. Baseball, softball and soccer too.
Don't know your age but if you're afraid of streaming, don't be. I told my mother for years that she could have Netflix on her TV and all of that entertainment and she said she's never be able to learn it. Then dad falls and breaks his hip and it kicks the dementia into full gear and in the rehab home the only thing that could keep him calm was the show Blue Bloods. I have no explanation for that other than it was what it was. It was only on cable for an hour a day. I brought my Roku in and said you can learn Netflix or you can deal with him when it's not on. She learned real quick. As a matter of fact, I need to go get her a new Roku now for her because her remote control is sticking. Hope this helped.

No, but really only because of 3 games (2 basketball and 1 football) per year. About 3 years ago they started putting 1 football and 2 basketball games per year ONLY on ESPN Plus. That football game this year is next week against Eastern. If you don't have access to it you won't be able to see the game no matter what cable/satellite/streaming service you have. As for the rest, pretty much any provider not currently is a pissing contest with Disney will have them.

You don’t have to have ESPN+ for those games, they’re also available on SEC Network+ which is included when you have SEC Network.

I think so. You can turn it on or off at anytime and add whatever channels you want.

It saves everything you record while it’s turned off too so you don’t actually lose any recordings and you can bank a bunch while it’s off.

If you are logged in through your ESPN Plus access and can see the tennis match between Wozniacki and Brady I will believe you. That is the main ESPN feed. There may be other matches on outer courts that you can watch with ESPN Plus but not the one on the main feed.
And after rereading you mention Hulu. If that is the Hulu Live that would be why.

It isn't Hulu live

If you can watch the women's volleyball game at 7 on the ESPN app then you are good but it will have nothing to do with ESPN Plus. That is on SEC Network so it would be blacked out with Spectrum because of the disruption and you won't be able to get it on the ESPN app with Spectrum login and it's not on ESPN Plus.

And you aren't married to them. You are month to month. If you want to leave YTTV at 3am for something better/different/cheaper you can.

No guy to come out and pick up a box, deliver a box, or fedex you box to install yourself.

You seem to know a lot about this so let me ask you a question if I have Spectrum is my internet provider but I subscribe to YouTube TV will I be able to watch the game? That is what is confusing me is though we have Spectrum as our internet and TV provider ESPN or plus is its own app and is still connecting to the spectrum internet why would YouTube TV be any different?

Everything else I've said is because I know it for sure. This one I'm like 95%-5% that they can't do that. I'm not even sure how they would do it technically. I can't test that because I don't have Spectrum internet. Like I said, I've seen other people say they can't do it and I don't see how it's even legal if they do. They can block it from their cable service but they can't control your router. You will know if you can see the U of L football game or the women's volleyball game that is on right now. Same channel as the game tomorrow.

Next week will be a different story. You will have to watch that on the ESPN app. Your YouTubeTv login credentials will get you the game on the ESPN app but it won't be on YouTubeTV. They are doing that for 1 football and 2 basketball games per year now.

It will only be a problem for you if YTTV couldn't work out a deal, not spectrum. You are good.

A free trial YTTV would be a good non committal work around for anyone else.

I have Spectrum and got the 21 day trial with YTTV. Watching the Cards get their *** swamped and will watch the Cats win tomorrow.

Plus I get to play around with the trial before I decide. Navigation is sucky and missing a few good channels but you do what you have to.

You can customize the channels and put them in whatever order you want. You have to do it on your computer or phone but you can do it. I have the networks first, sport channels 2nd, USA for wrestling and then the rest of the crap that I never watch.
And each profile can have their own order.

Been streaming for over 8 years now and never intend to go back. It's like when Charter first got cable internet in the late 90s. I already had a cell phone, so I called Sprint and told them I wanted to disconnect my land line because I only used it for dial up internet. The lady at Sprint said I was making a mistake and "YOU'LL BE BACK!" lol
Never going back to cable. Now just need fiber that isn't spectrum.

Spectrum has 3 days left to figure this **** out.
Simple curiosity, are you really blaming Spectrum for this issue? Do you know something I don't? Disney (ESPN) has done this **** many times before. They hold all the cards and always want more money for the honor of providing their services. I saw it on Dish Network, I saw it on DirecTV and I saw it when I had cable. Every time they did it, my cable or satellite rates went up shortly after because they had to cover the additional costs that ESPN was asking.
Personally, I think all of the providers should just say funk you to ESPN. Yes, we would suffer in the mean time, but what good is it to have the rights to show a bunch of games if you have no airwaves with which to show them? That's a VERY good way to lose advertising money. They might get a few more subscriptions to their online service but they would take a hit like you wouldn't believe and would back down immediately. They hold individual companies hostage because they know that consumers will switch if they really want to see things. Then after a while, they hold the companies consumers switched to hostage because they know consumers are fickle.
I will figure it out one way or the other. There are ways. But it never ceases to amaze me how people will often blame the wrong party in any given dispute. And often the argument I hear is this..."Here's what I know...in blah blah blah I only had to pay this for this." It's comical.

Yes, because that would work. Spectrum and Dish would watch everyone except older people who can't grasp streaming or cutting the cord switch to YT TV. It sounds like you want to take a stand against Disney and ESPN. I and most others would rather not "suffer in the mean time."

Hopefully a compromise happens soon but Spectrum is the loser right now.

There's also an outage in my neighborhood now, so the thin ice keeps getting thinner. I got football to watch tonight.

I have YouTube TV. I think they should say funk you to ESPN as well. It’s going to happen to them as well. I don’t have an issue with Disney or ESPN. I just recognize that they are the ones in the position of power and usually don’t hesitate to use it at the expense of us.

I do agree with you on one thing. I hope a deal can be worked out soon.

This is not going to end any time soon, imo. And when it does, we’re (consumers) will pay a huge price.
Hopefully it ends with far more consumer choice. ESPN is absolute garbage. If they hadn't smartly gotten live sports rights under contract, they would have gone away long ago.

I would vastly prefer to pay for what I want (provided it is in a convenient and consistent app) and get local announcers. If I could pay UK $1k/yr directly to get every game on the same channel as it occurred with local announcers, I would do it in a heartbeat and cancel the rest altogether. And the money would go to UK rather than Disney, etc.

One of the exhibition games last year was pretty much a single camera on a tripod with Tom and Jack doing the call. It was the most enjoyable broadcast all season. I don’t know about $1000 but I’d gladly pay to watch that instead of what we get now.

What's holding you back from giving a free trial a whirl?

I think YTTV and the like are just a stop gap for people in a defined age group. Over 65 are just going to ride out cable until they're in the coffin. It's familiar. Under 30 don't watch any programmed tv.

It's similar to SiriusXM. The over age isn't paying for radio and the under(prob 45 instead of 30) have other options.

Ten years ago there were over 100 million cable subscribers. Today there are 60 million and in the next 3 years will dip below 50. All of those lost were previously auto subscribed to espn whether they watched espn or not.

Of the cable subs that left or died off, only a fraction have connected to a streamer that carries espn. YTTV is the only streamer that is growing. HuluLive and Fubo have lost(not much, but they aren't growing). YTTV hit 6.3 million this year and Sunday ticket is prob a big reason. The big four(YTTV/HuluLive/Sling/Fubo) that carry espn have a total of 15 million subs.

There are a lot of people that dropped cable that don't care enough to pay extra for live sports. I care and I pay for it, but many more do not. Espn had a pretty good business model when every pay tv customer had to cough it up. Espn doesn't hold the upper hand anymore.

If only cable or live streaming could be like a buffet. You pick the individual channels you want. The higher end channels you have to pay a bit more, like the roast beef costs more than the apple pie.

Well, I’m if a certain age and I hate navigating the streaming channels and miss my Spectrum remote. I just hate the cost.

And I guess I’m different because I’m a HUGE Sirius fan and haven’t listened to more than 2-3 hours of AM/FM in years.

Spectrum just raised our bill $15/month. Any suggestions for someone better. Now are paying $90/mo
