This whole thing was horribly managed. Tore his ACL 10 months ago. Wrestles 2-3 matches and can’t go. This knee didn’t heal like the other knee that wasn’t fixed.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a knee to rehab without ACL surgery? It seems like he.they should have known a long time ago whether he would be ready to go or not.

10-12 months for him most likely since he waited so long

I was checking out the Hawkeye forum. Those folks are looney tunes. Spencer Lee didn’t need any ACLs to be the best in the world. He needs to get them both fixed and focus on his Olympic dreams. More time with Terry and Tom is only going to set him back further.

Real talk here. Howe many Iowa wrestlers need to get injured for us to have a chance to win it? @osu2082

I think realistically we will need PSU to stumble a bit as well. With Lee being injured and some rumors about Kem being injured really open the door for PSU more so than us but the title is more open for everyone now and that includes us.

PSU, Iowa, Mich and OSU are the top 4 and the only 4 who have a shot.

The first knee rehab without surgery was less than 8 months. According to Wrestlestat's dates, he tore it on 3/21 and then wrestled a dual on 11/17. Based on his post, it sounds like the rehab on the 2nd knee didn't respond as well.

Lee out and if Kemerer is out that should give us a pretty good shot. I’m not sure what can be expected out of their backups at those weights. Currently they have:
133-Desanto top 4
141- Eirman top 4, he’s looked vulnerable this year.
149- Max Murin
157- Kaleb Young
165- Marinelli, nothing against the guy but could possibly be the biggest underachiever ever compared to seeding at NCAAs.
174- Nelson Brands- rumor is he’s injured.
184- Abe Assad
197- Warner, top 5
HWT- Cassioppi, top 3. Has lost around 30 pounds this year. But has been pinned also.
More for OSU is that we need to put 7-8 in the quarterfinals and then 4-5 in the Semis. Last season we were essentially tied with Penn State in 2nd place on the last day. Their finals performance pushed them well out in front of us.
Plott, Mastro, Carter Young, and Gfeller’s development over the next couple of months is going to be huge. Avoid injuries and we will have a shot.

Michigan is going to be tough. With intermat ranking.
125- Suriano hasn’t competed yet
133- Ragusin 8
141- Micic 3
149- Storr 17
157- Lewan 15
165- Cam Amine 10
174- Massa 6
184- Myles Amine 2
197- Brucki 8
285- Parris 2

Penn State definitely the front runners now and were possibly before the Iowa injuries. They have 4 NCs in their lineup. Also a previous 4th at 125, a 184 lb finalist at 197 lbs, and a HWT that finished 7th in his first NCAA tournament. That’s a lot of damn points.
