In the Mean Time- Spacehog
I Believe in a Thing Called Love-The Darkness
“In the Meantime” is a fantastic song.

Here are a few that come to mind:
“Sucked Out” by Superdrag
“Closing Time” by Semisonic (I know they had some other stuff that may have made the radio, but this was their only hit)
The aforementioned “Flagpole Sitta” by Harvey Danger
“What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes
“Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne
And, as much as I dislike the song, “Tubthumping” by Chumbawumba

How "What's up" became a hit is beyond me. For me, that's the worst song I've ever heard. It has zero redeeming qualities and the singers voice? Up there with Yoko Ono as the worst female "singers" ever in my book.

It’s not conventional by any means and I see how you think the way you do, but I love the passion in Linda Perry’s voice. There’s a lot behind her voice (unlike Yoko). Check out “Spaceman” by 4 Non Blondes if you want another example. But again, I totally get what you are saying.

With that said I did the song. It’s a jam.

This does bring up something i’ve thought about. Who are some great 2 hit wonders?

Golden Earring with Twilight Zone and Radar Love would have to be extremely high on that list.
BOC is up there Burning for You and Don't Fear the Reaper

Cutting Crew

Electric Avenue - Eddy Grant
Here comes the Hotstepper - iNi Kamoze
99 Luftballoons - Nena
Play That Funky Music - Wild Cherry
You Spin Me (like a record_ - Dead or Alive
No Diggity - Blackstreet
Tipsy - J-Kwon

Check out Spotify playlist of One Hit Wonders. Loaded with great songs, Also loaded with bad songs. "Don't worry, be happy" is trash. Despise that song, instant change if it comes on.

To be considered a hit is what? Top 40?
That was the standard. Means you made it onto Casey Kasem' s show after 1971 or so.

" The Billboard Book of One-Hit Wonders, music journalist Wayne Jancik defines a one-hit wonder as "an act that has won a position on [the] national, pop, Top 40 record chart just once." Billboard magazine defines a U.S. one-hit wonder as an "artist that cracks the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and never makes it ..."
