1974 Datsun 260z- loved it, really quick, handled, perfectly reliable
1973 VW Beetle- not perfect, but acceptable for a cheap first car

i have owned

1988 Ford Ranger. This was my truck in high school. POS handed down from my brother. Didn't care because it got me where I needed to go. Burned up in my parents driveway in 2001 about 2 weeks before I moved away to college.

1997 Ford Taurus. Nothing but problems, lasted a year until i got into a wreck

1999 Ford Contour. nothing but problems. Lasted 7 years but had multiple issues with it. Major issues

2004 Dodge Intrepid. Bought in 2011. 2 different mechanics warned me about it after I bought it. Wish I had listened. Paid $5000 and probably put more than that into repairs.

2013 Ford Focus. Very solid car thus far. Owned it for 2 years. Only issue is that I just got the oil changed and I'm still getting a message saying I need an oil change. Note this is not the oil light, it's just a thing that pops up when I start the car saying an oil change is due.

Never drove one but most definitely rode in the back of one over long distances.

It was a hand me down when I moved off campus in college. My Dad used to haul his DJ equipment around in it.

The old Snaggin' Wagon turned into a real beast when the power steering didn't work.

2014 Mazda 6 GT. Been without payments for 9 months and hope to keep it that way for another year.

After that looking at a Pickup for work, but every now and then I get an Audi/Range Rover itch. I don't even care if they require a lot of maintenance. The bitches don't care about transmissions..

That car is so rare that KBB can't even put a value on it.

I'd say his kids will go to a decent school. :D

Yeah, I did a search on them and saw a couple on AutoTrader for upper 80's. They are back in high demand with the new one being released. Those are such awesome cars.

Bet you loved that 85 Celebrity.

Oh yeah, it was awesome when the water pump was leaking on the rack and pinion so it would slip and get stuck unable to turn in the middle of intersections. At least it was a V-6 so after it shuddered through 1st and took 5 seconds to get moving, it was pretty fun because it was such a POS we just ran it into things and treated like a demolition derby car.

I never owned one but knew people who did. Variations of same story. [roll]

They're not the best thing Chevy put on the road. Will say when my brother ran it head-on into a 4 Runner, the 17 foot long front end saved his life.

A POS Civic with 220k miles, new plugs, filters, windshield wiper transmission (that slamming sound was so annoying) and cold *** AC.

2017 Subaru Forester.
The misses has a 2015 with 60k miles that she's intent on damaging every inch of before she's thru driving it. Solid vehicle minus a brake switch that the company reimbursed me for when it had a recall.

I went with the Sport model. You have to be careful with the G forces though...

Nice. What do you think it would go for?
Today, probably 100-110. I have it insured for about that anyways. High water mark was set this year at Amelia Island auction for $173. That one was a ‘94 with 11k on the clock. ‘98 is much more desirable but he has me well beat on mileage (51k). I’m going to hold on for a while and see if/when it clips 200....10 years or so is my guess. Supply/demand, stick sports cars in general but the number of mint stick Supras is dwindling rapidly.

Btw, the new one released is helping even more only because it’s 1. Mostly built by BMW 2. Underpowered 3. No stick offered. Has not been well received at all.

How did you get this car?
My Dad and I were both really into cars. He’s had pretty cool list over the years, mostly German. When I was at UK I still searched the Courier Journal classifieds all the time, found it in there and told him to go check it out. He loved it, bought it. Fast and Furious came out a few months later and it’s popularity exploded and here’s this 60 year old guy tooling around in the most popular car to teenagers in a generation [laughing].

Fast forward, we’d trade cars all the time for months at a time. Sadly he died very suddenly 4 years ago, in fact I was in that car when I was racing to his house when my Mom called me back to tell me he was gone. Even though that was the worst day of my life the car is even more sentimental to me on top because of that. Anyways, bought the car from her after that. He didn’t care too much about preventative maintenance, since I’ve owned it have spent some good time and money getting it to top shelf / concourse level condition....so we’ll see one day.

Whoever did the oil change either forgot or didn't know how to update the car's computer system.
