I eat real food, and can cook way cheaper, easier, better and quicker than it takes you to get in your car and drive through McDonalds.

The pictures in this thread and the like I don't see how you can eat that stuff and consider it "good" tasting. It's disgusting imo; you have corrupted tastebuds or something. But Doritos are good no doubt.

Any moron can cook, it's just a matter of doing it and working through your mistakes long enough to figure it out. I'm no chef and mess things up still frequently, but most meals aren't difficult and are quick.

Besides I have to cook if I want to eat the Southern European foods I would prefer to eat. I make this recipe in the 3 minute video in 15 minutes with pasta if I buy already peeled and deveined shrimp and there's really noting to be impressed by except the taste.

Are you counting the time you spent acquiring the groceries, or does your mom drop them off?

Why do you like things you don't enjoy? Are you a masochist?

I was ironically liking it, just like the Pabst Blue Ribbon I drink, the beard I have, the skinny jeans I wear, and the Bon Iver albums (vinyl) I own. Or you didn't understand the sarcasm in my first post. Definitely one of those two, though.

Yea they're like flavored tortilla chips made of tortillas. They process the tortillas so you don't have to and boy I'm glad they do because I have no idea how to make them. You should try them. They aren't bad really. Just don't eat more than the suggested serving (about 12 chips or so).

Actually, I highly recommend frying your own tortilla chips. Get one of those $40 Presto deep fryers with the basket and adjustable control and it's super easy (plus those are worth every penny). Just buy some corn tortillas. Cut them into wedges. Deep fry at 325 for I want to say about 1 minute to 1 minute 10 seconds (can't remember exactly). Toss with some salt, or if you want Doritos style you could make up a spice blend. Anyway, it makes anything like guacamole or salsas just so much better.

Also, bought some wonton skins and did it with those and then made an Asian style nachos as well.

Anyway, I cook a lot and try to eat healthy during the week. Man, produce is expensive as hell.

That's actually a very good point. You should judge your diet based upon the quality of its output. If you are forming hard biscuit shaped stool then you are doing well but if you're spraying like a firehose then maybe mix in a salad or something with a little more healthy fiber.

Biscuit shaped? What kind of biscuits are you eating? Breadstick shaped I can go for, but a biscuit shaped turd is going to hurt like hell coming out.

Super easy? What do you do with all of that old oil when it comes time to replace it? Honestly, dealing with the used oil and cleaning up that mess is primarily the reason I don't own a Fydaddy.

The last two types of processed food I have yet to eviscerate from my diet is cereal and fruit juice. Cereal I've cut back dramatically, usually gulp down a bowl out of convenience and laziness once every couple of days.

Fruit juice...dammit sometimes I just need flavor....working on it though.

I've been looking to greatly reduce my intake of artificial sweeteners. Comment about 'needing flavor' prompted me to share this. When I feel the need of something fizzy with flavor I go:
12 oz sparkling water, 1/8 tsp citric acid and about 20 - 30 drops of Sweet Leaf, flavored, liquid Stevia. It really is not even close to the bite and fizz of a "real" soda but it does satisfy my craving for a drink with flavor.

Hi, friends! Good nutrition is the guarantee of being healthy and happy! Reject junk and fast food and care about your organism, if you're not still persuaded, follow this and learn more http://skywritingservice.com/blog/healthy-food-that-you-should-eat-regularly

False. Your article rates alcohol as one of the 5 worst foods for you. Many studies have proved that people who drink moderately live longer than non-drinkers. So have a beer or glass of wine with your sh!ty flax seeds.

My wife and I are trying to eat less processed foods. Still need to cut out a few items but we are doing a whole lot better job than we used too.

My diet now consists of mainly fruits and vegetables. I always workout before work and just grab a quick protein shake for breakfast. I only have chicken a couple of times a week for protein. The main processed foods now are just dry cereal for snack and a couple of other snacks during the day.

I wonder what you taste like, Jelly. You seem like a nutritious meal.

Taste depends on where applied.

First decide if eating is a leisure activity for you or if it is an act of survival. I get that by limiting your food intake you are probably increasing your longevity and the health benefits of good food are obvious, but I want food to be an enjoyable part of my life that I look forward to rather than as pure sustenance. So I live 5-10 years less. Oh no. You mean I cut out that "great" part between 80 and 90 years old just so I could enjoy the rest of my life? You're damned right.

Agreeing with Z again. Sheesh.

My wife's uncle turned 81 today. He is diabetic and obese. Always ate anything he wished. His brothers were slim and followed a strict diabetic diet. Neither of them made it to 70. He's still kicking and gets out and about.

You're probably looking at dying in your late 50s.

I have a colleague at College of Charleston that has a converted VW Golf that runs on veggie oil. Caught a ride to Trident Tech with him once for a conference. When I got back to the office, EVERYONE of my co-workers told me I smelled like popcorn. I guess it could have been worse!

As soon as you can't see your dick when pissing. That's your red flag. That could be as soon as next year if you don't watch it Gonzo.

I piss with my eyes closed. Once I see my neighbors flailing to get out of their inner tubes onto the safety of the deck, I stop mid-stream. Every time. Some kind of mental block.

I think it comes down to the end of WWII and the much heavier income tax burden we all pay than we did 70 years ago.
How?
Both of those have played a big role in families needing (or feeling they need) 2 incomes. WWII required that many American women go to work while the men fought for our country. Once WWII was over many stayed in the workforce, and staying at home was no longer the expectation of all women. Add that in with income tax rates rocketing upward from the 50's to the 80's, forcing many families to have 2 incomes.
So what?
So when both parents work, there is less time for daily grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
Add in technological advances that allow foods and meals to be pre-prepared, and last longer, and taste better.
And wha-la.

....and with those two incomes, families are no better off than they were when one parent worked outside the home and the other stayed home. In fact, reading how some of you guys eat, we are worse off. No time to cook real food; no time to grocery shop; based on observations from when I had to visit homes in a former profession, no time to clean house....not to mention no time to raise and supervise our kids. Our whole economic system has been adjusted to be based on two incomes The post WWII two income system is maybe the worst economic "deception " in the history of our country.

I'm not sure what I eat. It's like a mystery each morning can only be solved by closely inspecting what's spilled on the floor and the half-rinsed pan in the sink.

The tequila processed?

I eat the food I grow mostly. Big garden, cattle, hogs and chickens. Exercise is built into life.

We buy milk, bread, cereal and fruit. Eat out on occasion as a treat and pick a nice place to do so. I avoid fast food if at all possible.
