It was really good and meta the first 20 minutes or so. The rest is indeed a giant mess.

The John Wick series is better than The Matrix films.

Yep, the John Wick’s are fantastic. Some may say the same thing happens in every film (and they would be somewhat correct) but it’s just a fast paced shoot ‘em up spectacle with lots of world building.

the 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies were garbage. Not sure why I was excited to see the new one.

Imo the second movie was fantastic. The dialogue with the Merovingian was incredible.

Somehow the 3rd was awful and apparently the 4th is worse.

Yes, and the visuals with Monica Bellucci wasn’t too shabby either.

I was going to say the movie lacked a little testosterone. Seriously though, if I didn't see John Wick, I mean Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in the trailer I wouldn't have even thought it was a Matrix sequel. Just didn't have the same feel as the originals.

I'm in the minority about the originals. I preferred the 3rd movie over the second. The whole Architect scene just ruined the movie for me.
