You can try to downplay it all you want, but that's far from the current situation. It's one side making all the moves. You do have to pick a side, but the left is forcing that.
Leftists have gained control over nearly everything in society. Companies are tripping over themselves to implement the "progressive" agenda and appease the woke mob. Banks are dropping conservative businesses, big tech is devising a "social credit score" that includes monitoring your online behavior and restricting your access to products and services and more.

Spotify is platform agnostic at the OS level, but not at the app level. It is its own platform that has lockdowned episodes of its “podcasts” that can only be listened to in the Spotify app. For that reason, these shows are not podcasts at all. They are internet audio shows (or whatever) that cannot be accessed via an RSS feed by podcatcher apps (the definition of a “podcast.”)
Rogan had Dr. Robert Epstein on a couple weeks ago to talk about the danger of big tech, and now an organization led by a former Ellen Degeneres staffer is leading the charge to take down Rogan. The same Ellen who somehow landed the one and only interview with the Las Vegas massacre security guard before he disappeared off the planet. Coincidence probably.

The first amendment protects speech/speakers from punishment from the federal government for said spech. That’s the entire list.
It doesn’t protect speakers from consequences levied by private businesses, their boss, angry consumers, friends and family, etc. Freedom of speech and speech without consequences are two entirely different things.
The federal government is not involved in this in any way.

1st ammendment stuff aside, I think what they're ultimately saying is that the left appears to be extremely intolerant of other views, and their first course of action is to get things removed, cancelled or banned.
Yes, artists can freely pull music in protest of Joe Rogan.. and Spotify can ultimately make the call to censor Rogan or remove him.. but why go down this road to begin with? Because he has a different opinion?
I think Trevor Noah is an idiot and has damaged plenty of young minds. But I never once thought to attempt to get him cancelled. I just don't watch. When he comes on after reruns of the office I just change the channel.
