My home is too damn hot, especially upstairs. I really think I need some better/more insulation for the attic and was thinking about the spray foam insulation. Anyone here ever get it done? What are some reputable companies around Lexington that do it?

With the foam insulation you have to make sure the contractor is good. If you have current ventilation systems then he has to work around them. Also, you need to do cellulose in your currently insulated area/attic. In fact, I'd start with that as the foam is very expensive and has some risk with what i mentioned about the ventilation.

Well I'll be damned, I never even considered that the skill of the contractor would have any bearing on the job's outcome. Thanks for the insight.

I used Barbasol on mine. It's held pretty tightly for the past 5 years.

Try the Pacific Rush. Great scent and has extra thickness.

Think abstractly. This is a fairly new and very specialized service. It's not like a normal electrician or plumber. The application is very technical. You want to make sure you get somebody who is very good. This isn't your normal job that any ole handyman can do.

I live in South Georgia, and it's been 100 degrees all week. My HVAC unit has been screwed up since Sunday with a major leak. I have very minimal AC, but my house hasn't got above 78 degrees.

So, I think the spray foam insulation is amazing. My house was new construction, so I have no idea on installation. However, the results themselves are really great.
