Spring Game (Bar) Visits

If you are going to the spring game, what bars do you recommend?

We always stop at Sandy's, Elk Creek is a great way to start the day even though they are super expensive.
Duffy's, that place gets pretty packed pre-game. Is 5 dudes sharing a fish bowl a bit...fishy?
The Rail, always fun to stop in.

Barry's or Rail Yard to watch the game? What say you?

That place is a great time. I heard lease rates there are insane.

Maybe not so much GameDay bars, but I want to get back to Occidental and Kate Martin, under the O street viaduct.

I don't know if those bars are one in the same or just sit back to back to each other but they have tasty drinks and a nice ambience.

When it comes to spring game bar visits, I've got a couple of recommendations. If you're looking for a great start to the day, Elk Creek is fantastic, even though it can be a bit pricey. Sandy's is another spot we always stop by, and it never disappoints. As for Duffy's, it can get pretty crowded before the game, but sharing a fish bowl with five dudes might be a bit fishy indeed! But for me personally, the most successful was https://www.riwa-restaurant.de/de/. Maybe you will like it too. And of course, The Rail is always a fun place to drop in.

Back in the day, like the 1970s there was a cool bar on (I think) the southwest corner of 9th and R. It was Marie's Oasis. The Open Door Mission was a few doors down as was the Continental Trailways bus station. That area was somewhat of a skid row. I used to go to Marie's and get a tall glass of MD 20/20 for 80 cents and talk to some real interesting guys who were on hard times. It kept me grounded after relating to all my entitled classmates all day. Alas, the building was torn down and is now a parking structure.

Elk Creeks have gotten pricey! I think 11 dollars a pitcher now?

I still get one or two, more for the fun of it!

Marie's was great! I once saw a guy dry shaving, all of his whiskers falling right into his beer. But it was on the southeast corner, where the new hotel is going up. The parking structure on the SW corner has been there forever.

Thanks for updating my geography. Downtown Lincoln has changed so much it is hard to tell where all my old haunts were. Marie's had a storefront window that was curtained off so you couldn't see into the bar from the sidewalk. There were a couple old bald car tires sitting in the storefront.
