Personally I think its poorly timed, given when March Madness is going on and how our MBB team is doing this year. Early April i get, but March? Gross.

We are having a spring game again with no concern about an extra portal and people are still complaining. The earlier you see the new guys and hopefully beefed up guys in game action, the sooner you know better about depth charts, guys’ motors, and all that. Quit yer bitchin’.
Because we learn so much in the spring game. The spring game heroes are the talk of the message boards never to see the field again.
At least it gives this swamp something positive to talk about for a few weeks….
Hope springs eternal. Just booked a room at the Cornhusker. Figured Mrs and I will make a day of it. I like the spring game, no pesky opponent to destroy my hopes and dreams
Apparently the reasoning behind the date is they need 2 weeks to set up the Zach Bryan concert on April 25.

Apparently not for everybody. I suspect IF we win a game in the tourney, the spring scrimmage will be adjusted accordingly. How big of a party would there be IF we could watch a Husker NCAA tourney game on the Jumbotron in the stadium before or after the spring game? That would be awesome.
IF we make it to the Elite 8, accommodations will be made to avoid conflict.
Rhule did this on purpose because he sees the Fighting Freds are going to be an Elite Eight team so he’s trying to steal their thunder by having a spring game that same day. In fact, he’s gonna keep the time TBD until the bracket is finalized so he can schedule the spring game the same time as the basketball game. He doesn’t like anyone else stealing his shine.

The spring game fell on march madness before and it was a blast. Lincoln was packed, the bars were packed, it was a great time.
I remember everyone watching #1 Seed WSU Shockers taking on Kentucky in the second round, I think.
I also remember the girl I banged that night...she is probably married to one of the posters here now...I got a good idea who it is too. Wink

I remember going to the 95 spring game...I sat ontop of the north endzone, listening to kfab (I think it was kent and gary), eating valentinos and drinking pepsi...had my binoculars too...I looked over my left shoulder and a real good nebraska baseball team was playing too (they might have been big 8 champs, can't remember)...I had my feet on the bench infront of me, nobody was within 30 ft of me...
